There’s nothing to be done, it’s a disaster… same answer on repeat… If anyone has an idea, I’m all ears.
This remains a second-hand site, new items are clearly not welcome. For that, I agree with them. If they open up to new items, it’s over.
Indeed, the situation is absurd…
A few people have already managed to resolve these kinds of cases via LinkedIn by contacting members of Vinted’s management or technical team… Unfortunately, I don’t have specific names, but it’s worth a try as a last resort?
For the rest, absurd is the word.
that’s already the case in fact, even if they remain in a gray area.
Personally, I would prefer them to ban it outright to be very clear, or else open the floodgates. But not this vague intermediate thing.
it’s done on purpose.
It’s like scrolling, a human relationship, gambling, or anything else: the principle of not knowing what’s coming, random rewarded uncertainty, and the fact that it’s never the same thing that happens makes you addicted.
Vinted uses this principle everywhere, search engine, pro/private difference, modifies its answers which remain unclear, sometimes yes, sometimes no, second-hand but new is allowed but not too much without knowing how or how much, sometimes it sells, then it doesn’t sell anymore, they close an account and leave an identical one without any problem, some sellers sell well, others identically, not
It’s for all these reasons that the site works and that people spend as much time as possible on it: it’s their guiding principle. we can also understand it because Vinted is rarely a place for rational purchases.
One should not try to rationalize a situation that does not depend on reason, it leads to misunderstanding because there are no reasoned/logical explanations at first glance.
The question then is not to say we need this or that, but how do I use it, how do I make it a strength. Knowing this, you can tip the scales in your favor ![]()
Hello Exactly the same case as you at the end of August.
I have a professional account and I did not receive any warning messages from Vinted 12 days before.
I finally managed to obtain a copy of my personal data after chasing them and threatening to report them to the CNIL.
By searching through my Vinted data received today, it is clear that no message was sent to me by support 12 days before the account closure.
I am trying to use this to my advantage because the minimum is to receive a warning to remove items, but this 12-day warning does not exist, and I can prove it.
There is something wrong, like a bug or I don’t know what… anyway, there are at least two of us in this grotesque situation and facing a wall.
Reading your message
Indeed, I never received any message in the 12 days prior either… The worst part is that they talk to me about cosmetic products, beauty devices, dropshipping with low-value products, it’s nonsense, I don’t have any of that… I’m going to request my data like you… And their response saying that my request has been analyzed several times with always the same conclusion, that the decision is firm and final, it kills me…
I just contacted support, keep us updated on the progress ![]()
So concretely, you don’t know why you were blocked? The reasons given don’t match?
Message original de Vinted…
“Hi Michaël, Thank you for getting in touch! Twelve days ago, we asked you to remove all cosmetic items, beauty devices, low value drop shipping items, and most of the brand new items from your wardrobe within the next 12 days. Unfortunately, since we still found prohibited items in your wardrobe after 12 days, we had no choice but to permanently block your account. Vinted has a legitimate interest in blocking your use of our platform to ensure the security of both the platform and other users.
You can withdraw your earnings from your Vinted Balance to your bank account even though your account is blocked. Also, you can still use Vinted as a non-commercial seller. Simply create a standard account (if you don’t have one yet) using a different email address and phone number. However, if you create another Vinted Pro account, we will have to block it. More detailed…”
Absolument aucune des raisons évoquées non…
Actually, the story of the 12 days is nonsense… my account was closed on August 21st and I could see that I was reported for prohibited items on all my listings on August 17th.
I suspect a seller to whom I refused several offers and to whom I asked to stop making them on the 17th… the warnings took place two hours later.
So Vinted bans you for reports… doesn’t ask you to remove or not remove the items concerned and ultimately accuses you of not having acted within 12 days.
I try to explain to them but like you, their sentence is irrevocable.
They are not clean though because the reason for closing the account is not real. What to do?
I sent a registered letter to Vinted France… for the moment they haven’t received it yet after 15 days.
I sent a registered letter to Lithuania… I’m waiting to see if they will respond.
For your information, to recover your personal data, you have to harass them… I cited their GDPR rules and threatened to report them to the CNIL within 30 days.
In the ban there is a reason to put an external link in a discussion.
Are all messages containing external links prohibited? certain words?
For example, a link to get paid like PayPal or Paylib.
They are not clear, are they… they answer without answering… They try to justify the blocking but nothing matches… For me too, it’s after a guy who annoyed me… the guy harasses me all day for a discount, which I end up accepting and the next morning, he asks for the cancellation of the order for not sent order… It pissed me off, I asked him if he was serious! 1 hour later I received messages of listings removed due to copyright infringement… and 10 minutes later this message of total blocking…
But what shocks me the most is seeing this message,
Your account is blocked
We are sorry to inform you that we must block your Vinted account due to suspected commercial sales.
Even though I am a PRO and this morning I received another listing removed due to poor quality photo while I am blocked…
We’ll have to get an idea, they are stubborn and bordering on contemptuous in their response.
They invited me to come back in particular when they had forced me to switch to pro at the beginning of the year.
They are crazy. Ask for your personal data and you will know if this person reported you on day X. The story of the 12 days is nonsense, like the increasingly incomprehensible catalog rules.
Write to privacysupport@vinted.fr and to the attention of the DPD as explained in the terms of use.
Ok Thanks
I have asked support for my data
Hello, do you have any information about your data?
Hello,
The FEVAD mediation is already a good step, even if the delays can be quite long.
You can also try reporting via SignalConso if you haven’t already done so, especially if you believe that the blocking or access to your data was not handled correctly.
On my end, I had found several detailed user experiences that brought together the different possible steps (FEVAD, SignalConso, GDPR, consumer recourse, etc.) and this allowed me to see more clearly the available options.
Good luck with the rest, I hope your situation will be resolved quickly.
For my case, all these « solutions » did not work… except for the consumer recourse, what do you mean by that?
