Seller: Package not picked up after return, what happens in this case?

Hello,

I searched in advance to see if a topic already existed.

I sent a package to Italy and despite several reminders, the buyer did not collect their package.

They only replied to me on the last day they could collect it, and of course, they didn’t collect it.

In short, it was returned to me, and I have sent messages to support very, very often.

Each time I was told that I had to wait 25 days.

I admit I didn’t see that I could collect it and I never received any messages from Vinted (like when you’re a buyer).

I waited for the 25-day period (May 21st), and then I was told that my package had been available since May 5th and that since I hadn’t collected it, it was no longer available, and it was the 8th day, so they could no longer contact the carrier.

I am very angry and disappointed, but I have had no positive feedback, nor even the address where I should have collected it… who could I contact?

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Thank you very much…

Hello,

Are you not tracking your orders?
Are you not tracking your returns?

Personally, I check the status of orders (and therefore packages) once a day.
If packages are delivered to the pickup point, I automatically send a message to the buyers so they remember to collect their packages. (I copy-paste the same template message)

I still had a number of packages that were not picked up at the pickup point, so since then, I check.

Besides, we sometimes wonder why some people order and then don’t collect their packages.

Yes, it results in a waste of time and cost (packaging).

When buyers do not collect their packages (with ChronoPost), the package is directly returned to the seller’s mailbox.
At least, that’s what happened to me.
For Mondial Relay, you have to go and collect it at the pickup point.

Afterward, you have a feature that allows you to automatically republish your ad.

Good luck…

Hello,

I think I may have expressed myself badly!

I sent a message per day to the buyer.

The package was returned to me; I tracked it, it was a Vinted Go, and I didn’t get the information about the location to pick it up…

Ah okay…
It’s with Vinted Go… yeah, well personally, I don’t use it…

Hello, I personally just had the same problem with a buyer who did not come to pick up her package (VintedGo), so it will be returned to me. How do I get it back? Is the seller penalized? If 10 people do the same thing, what happens? Thank you for your answers and your help. Good evening

You can pick it up upon receiving a notification informing you that your package has arrived. This way, the buyer will be refunded and not penalized. Find the error…

Good evening, thank you for your reply. But if 6 or more people do this to me every time, does it happen identically?? Is there a way to avoid this problem. Have a nice evening.

Good evening again, is it possible to disable the VintedGo key in the settings? Thank you very much, Kind regards

Hello, Vinted Go is not deselectable. I write on my listings, first line, that I do not use Vinted Go. And if someone chooses this carrier anyway, I cancel by ticking « by mutual agreement ». I indicate that we agree to change the carrier. I have greatly limited losses, thefts and other problems. I would rather not sell than lose an item.

Good evening, thank you very much for your reply. Have you already had the same problem as me, that is to say the buyer who does not collect her package and it has been returned? Have you encountered this problem often if that is the case? Thank you, have a good night.

yes, often. Also very often no message to inform me that the return package is available for me to pick it up. Furthermore, the only locker near us is small and I often had to travel 3 km only to find no space to drop it off. Many lost packages. Lockers that opened with a package already inside. Package drop-offs that were not updated. The locker screen froze  It was all too much hassle. Since then, I no longer accept Vinted Go or Chronopost. I have very, very few problems. Colissimo, DHL, UPS, Mondial Relay: if there’s a return, I receive an email plus an SMS plus the update when there’s a return. I closely follow the package’s journey. I send reminders to ghost buyers. Obviously, there are always people who don’t pick them up (especially in summer and during the Christmas period). But it’s incomparable to before. Between time and fuel, I’m a winner.
