Urgent! Return to an address other than the one on the Vinted slip

Hello, following a doubt about the authenticity of an Aurélie Bidermann bracelet, the seller accepted the return but requires me to send it to a different address than the one indicated on the Vinted return label (under the pretext that it’s too far).

How can I validate my return within the time limit without downloading the return label sent by Vinted? And send it to the address she wants (at my expense)? I am stuck and time is running out before the finalization of the transaction, which I do not want, and the transfer of €170.53 to the seller.

Has anyone experienced this on Vinted before?

Thank you!

Hello,

I’ve never had this happen, but try contacting Vinted to see if you can, and if you can’t, if you don’t want to, say:

2. Do not send without an official shipping label

Sending the item to another address without using the official shipping label risks canceling your Vinted protection, as the platform will not be able to track and verify the return.

3. Offer a compromise

Inform the seller that you are willing to find a compromise, but that the shipment must be made according to Vinted’s rules to validate the return correctly.
If she refuses, insist that you will only follow Vinted’s instructions.

4. Keep proof

If you have to send the item anyway:

  • Take photos before and after packaging.
  • Keep the tracking number.
  • Communicate all this evidence to Vinted.

5. Transaction suspension

If the return has not yet been validated and time is running out, ask Vinted to suspend the transaction to prevent funds from being automatically transferred.

6. Dispute resolution

If no agreement is reached quickly, ask Vinted to intervene in the Resolution Center section to prevent the transaction from being finalized in favor of the seller.

A thousand thanks for your help @Valentindu62 !!!

For your information, if there’s no news from Vinted, I was thinking of printing the Vinted shipping label to put in the package and manually changing the shipping address. Mondial Relay told me that was okay.

What a hassle… it really put me off ordering items over €20 on Vinted.
This is a €170 transaction (including shipping costs), I won’t be doing that again!

If anyone has experienced this, I’m curious to know what Vinted replied

If Mondial Relay says ok, no problem, with the software and the barcodes, like if the address is 75001 Paris and she wants to change it to Marseille, I don’t think that would go through.

Afterwards, I’ve never had that happen.

I called Mondial Replay again for verification, another advisor told me it’s not possible after all. They are telling me I have to ask Vinted to edit a new shipping label to the new address the seller is requesting :grimacing:

Hello,
That seems more consistent to me too, as @Valentindu62 rightly points out, if the barcode is not modified… the package will not arrive at its destination.
I don’t think it’s possible to reship to another relay point, she has to modify it and ensure that her return address is correct… otherwise it’s too easy.
If I were you, I would send it with the shipping label edited by Vinted.

Good evening @Lucile! A big thank you to both of you!

I followed @Valentindu62’s advice (thank you!!) by requesting a transaction suspension…
Vinted took it into account! I have to send them photos of the item within 48 hours (I took photos of the bracelet at Aurélie Bidermann’s shop last Thursday with the seller, the brand’s plaque in the window, etc…) upon receipt, the seller had told me that it wasn’t true, that it wasn’t the shop. The advantage of living in Paris is that when you have doubts about the authenticity of a product, you can check at the source. To be continued, given the time lost in management, I assure you that I will no longer recommend this type of product.
