Package sending error: Seller doesn't confirm return even though package is delivered. What to do?

I’m having an issue with a Vinted transaction and would like your opinions or experiences.

Here are the facts:

2 weeks ago: I bought a pair of sneakers.

  • Receipt: The seller informed me she had sent the wrong item. I did indeed receive the wrong package.

  • Procedure: I contacted Vinted support. They asked me to return the item at my own expense via Mondial Relay.

  • Return: The package was sent back and received by the seller.

The problem:

Since the receipt, the seller’s status has changed to « unavailable » (vacation mode or blocked account). Vinted is asking me to confirm receipt of the return to trigger the refund, but they require proof from her (a message in the conversation confirming she received everything).

The seller is no longer responding, so I’m stuck. I sent a screenshot of the shipping tracker showing « Delivered, » but support insists on a confirmation in the chat.

My questions:

  1. What can I do if the seller remains unavailable and confirms nothing?

  2. Is there a way to force validation with the Mondial Relay delivery proof?

  3. Will the refund eventually happen automatically after 7 days if the tracking proves delivery?

This site is very badly made, constantly fumbling around, and the user has no rights, one must admit that the head office is located in a country that is …, anyway.

To answer your questions, I’ve experienced this a few times already, you have to keep contacting them in the hope that a human will read your complaints and that through sheer perseverance, one of them will have a few more neurons than the others and will answer you logically.
