Hello,
I received an item that does not match the description. After discussing with the seller (who was not very friendly and reluctant to refund me), she agreed, but said the drop-off point was too far from her home and I should ask Vinted to select another one. It’s impossible to reach Vinted for a quick response, and the question I asked their help center could take 48 hours, and in 48 hours the payment will be made to the seller. I suspect she is doing this on purpose to gain time. So I continued to follow the instructions for returning to the original drop-off point and I will send it. I told her, and she told me she wouldn’t go to pick it up. In that case, what happens? Will I still be refunded?
Thank you for your answers.
D.
If the package is returned and she doesn’t make an effort to pick it up, you should be refunded.
Asking you to « contact Vinted » for a closer drop-off point is nonsense. Your contact is just trying to distract you.
It happens that people don’t pick up returned items, especially if they are only worth a few euros and for some reason the return location is far away. I have that case right now: even though I live in the city center with a lot of drop-off points around me, a package is being returned to me from over 10 km away. And I don’t even know what the item is, I just got an email from the carrier giving the arrival point, which doesn’t link to the transactions. I prefer to let it go.
Anecdote on the side: I was once sent the wrong package back. Probably a labeling error during re-shipping. I ended up with merchandise worth much more than I expected ![]()
Afterwards, I completely don’t care if she gets it back or not, all I want is my refund ![]()
Hello
When your package arrives and is available for pickup… You can always send a message to support asking for your refund because you will have followed the procedure… And you can also attach the screenshot of the message saying that she will not pick it up… This might speed things up a bit
Hello
If you don’t find any matches with your transactions… These could be « fake » messages
I often receive them with the subject « Mondial Relay » telling me my package is there with a nice little link…
A buyer has to return 2 items to me. So.
She returns them but 25 km from my place, even though I provided her with the drop-off point address, telling me that no other drop-off point was offered afterwards, not before sending it of course (I have 5 within 3 km).
As I couldn’t go and pick it up, she was refunded, and the package was returned to her.
She played the role of someone who didn’t know, but I think she really got me.
Hello
You didn’t have the option to open a dispute either?
yes there was but Vinted responded to arrange with the buyer.
it happens, on eBay there are also loopholes to cheat.
Yes, it’s clear that there’s no shortage of loopholes.
However, Vinted’s response is strange… Did you choose « package not received » for your dispute?
For your item… There are several solutions to get it back if it’s worth the effort.
Either your buyer lists it on Vinted for a symbolic €1 and you buy it back (if she’s honest, she’ll slip the €1 into the package), leaving only the additional costs for you to bear.
Or you buy a Bordeaux on the website of the carrier of your choice and send it to her by email so she can send it… Personally, I would choose the first option because, firstly, it goes through Vinted and therefore offers a bit more guarantee that she will send it, and secondly, you benefit from advantageous prices for shipping costs.
Hello, I had the same problem with the same words from the seller (it must be the same one!!!) I opened a dispute with Vinted and contacted them directly without going through the conversation with the Vinted user. Copy of the insults received, lies about the pick-up address, and so on… I refused the return of the package. I won my case and was refunded.
Hello,
I am writing to support the answers you have already received on the subject: if she does not collect the package, you will be refunded. Moreover, as @Malelo says, you will have followed the protocol, so as soon as the package arrives, you can request a refund ![]()
Have a good Sunday
Hello! I’m following up on this topic because I’m in a similar situation: an item was not as described, sent back to the seller, but the seller did not pick up the package. I saw on the tracking that as a result, the package is being returned to the sender, meaning the buyer. However, I’m requesting a refund for the item, but if I pick it up again, will I still be refunded (as well as the seller)? If the package comes back to me and I can get the item for free, then why not, but this is the first time this has happened to me, so it’s a mystery…
Hello
If she doesn’t pick it up, you’ll be refunded and the item will be automatically sent back to you. So you’ll get a refund and a free item.
