Thank you for your response.
Vinted does not clearly state this in its Terms and Conditions.
The current restrictions are mostly due to duplicates rather than AI photos for some.
I’m chiming in: I’m the creator of Vintedify, an AI photo generation tool designed for Vinted, and I wanted to share some feedback on what you’re discussing in this thread.
First, we are completely aligned with what @Lucile said in message #7: AI is not meant to replace all your photos. It’s a tool that helps out when you can’t or don’t want to model the clothing yourself — or typically when an item has been sitting for a long time despite good photos on a hanger/flat lay. In our case, photos are generated on display dress forms (not photorealistic human models), which gives a result closer to a shop window than a « perfect e-commerce » photo.
The observation by @cedced in message #13 (« my images are too perfect ») actually echoes what we’re seeing too: results like ChatGPT/Gemini often deviate from Vinted’s usual aesthetic, which can attract reporting flags. This is a real issue we’re continuously working on.
It’s also worth noting, and it’s important to be transparent about this: no mainstream AI tool today can guarantee 100% passing of Vinted’s checks.
Some best practices that emerge from what we see with our users, and which align with the advice already shared here by Lucile and viedemode:
Keep the AI photo only as the first image, and keep your real photos for the rest
Mention in the description that the first photo is generated (this builds trust and reduces issues)
Don’t use AI for your entire wardrobe, but rather for items that are struggling to sell
If some of you would like to try a different tool, Vintedify offers 3 free credits upon registration, with no subscription. The process is to paste the link to your Vinted listing, and the AI generates optimized photos. I’ll be on the forum if you have any questions or feedback to share.
Well, we can expect waves of reports and blocks even with real photos. Given how Vinted operates, it will be enough for a certain number of malicious reports to cause an account to be suspended.
It’s a bit of a double-edged sword, but none of our clients have had any issues. The purpose of our application is not to replace the photo but to show the garment being worn if you can’t do it yourself, and in no case to deceive the buyer. We clearly state to always include real photos of your product.
Oh yes, I see the type of photo, it’s true that it can seem fake, try our tool, you’ll see what it gives you with photos without backgrounds, you shouldn’t have any more white background problems, we also add perspectives with different photo backgrounds.
For those of you who regularly use AI to sell on Vinted, how do you do it? Because the few times I’ve tried, my listings were hidden shortly after with a warning of blocking… Yet it was faithful to the clothing sold and I only put the first photo, the rest was on a hanger. Are there any techniques I don’t know about to get around this?
