Vinted return fees: I don't want to pay them

Hello,

I sold a child-sized fanny pack. The buyer asked me for the measurements, and I sent her a screenshot of the measurements directly from the website. She received her package today and tells me that the measurements do not match (she measured with a tape measure) and that I sold her the wrong size. However, I bought the bag

Vinted doesn’t force you to do anything, you decide :blush: The only problem is that if you ask her to pay for the return shipping, she might not send the package back. The transaction will then be validated and she can then leave you a negative review…

But hey, if you provided the measurements and everything was correct, then you are absolutely right to make her pay for the return!! Some buyers totally abuse the system…

Personally, I prefer a negative review, which I justify in response to it knowing that I am not wrong. But everyone does as they wish on this subject. :blush:

Indeed, Vinted does not oblige us in any way.

After all, a bad review isn’t a big deal, especially since you can reply to it. Something like « a return was offered but you never sent the item back Â» will be enough to identify the buyer. And besides, in the grand scheme of things, you still keep your 5 stars if there aren’t many of them.

I had a dispute this morning…

It’s only my second one so you could say that 99% of the time it goes well.

I’m a professional seller, I don’t want to get tired and put my account at risk, so I accept the refund (without return) even if it was an abusive dispute, but as a professional seller we have far too much to lose unfortunately.

I completely understand, but on the other hand, it encourages the person to try again with other sellers since it works.
Also, consider that if you let Vinted handle the dispute, they will often classify it as a 14-day return and ask the person to send it back at their expense to your address (so, Colissimo), which has never happened on my end. This is what I do when I sense something is not clear.

Actually, it depends. If you have a lot of positive reviews, a negative one won’t change your star rating. However, if the seller is new and doesn’t have many reviews, it can affect their rating :sweat_smile: Personally, when a seller has 3 stars or less, I don’t buy from them. I don’t even take the time to read the reviews to understand why ^^

Speaking of which, I no longer see the stars displayed in the messaging on my pro account (they are still there on my personal account).
