Return fees on a purchase

Hello
I received an item that does not match its description. The seller accepted the return but at my expense.
Why is it up to the buyer to pay for return shipping when the problem originates from the seller?
Can I negotiate with the seller?

Hello,
Yes, the seller can choose to cover the costs… But in reality, it is very often the buyer who bears them…

Thank you for your response, Vinted should review its return policy in these kinds of cases.

personally as a pro seller, when there’s an issue, most of the time I refund without asking for a return, unless it’s high value, but often it’s not really worth paying for a return (no point in getting back an item broken during shipping) and it only happens exceptionally that in the mass of orders there’s a mistake in shipping, so I offer the « wrong Â» product sent and the person is happy. After if the person just wants to use their 14-day right of return, it’s at their expense, obviously, or if they are aggressive/insulting, I let Vinted decide and indeed they ask the buyer to pay the return costs.

I still advise to ALWAYS contact the seller before opening a dispute and to do so cordially, it motivates finding a solution that benefits the customer. Those who want to play « nervous Â» can sort it out with Vinted and it’s generally less advantageous.

Basic question, first purchase on Vinted, it’s starting badly. I received a T-shirt instead of a fleece, item not as described. To be able to access the button, I have a problem, should I first click on the button, Received? Thank you for your help

Hello,
Don’t you have a button to report a problem in the conversation?

When I sell an item with defects omitted in the photo, I cover the return if I can still make a profit.
If the buyer doesn’t like the item because they didn’t read the dimensions, ignored the details or defects, or used the sale as a « fitting room, Â» they are responsible for the return shipping costs.

If they open a dispute as a result:

  • If the buyer loses, I get paid.
  • I receive the item, relist it, and make a profit. I’ve even sold the same item 3 times…

However, you must be prepared to receive a very negative review, often impossible to remove, unless there are insults. This happens to me mostly with low-priced items.

However, we can no longer leave a review if a dispute is open

Yes, you need to click on received, then I have a problem…
