Hello, I just saw that many Vinted packages are lost.
Here is another one.
Sent on December 17 via Chronopost Shop 2 Shop.
A rare pair of pants to find, so it’s not about the amount (€35), but about the rarity of the item.
In short, the package was scanned on December 17, read at the sorting center on the 18th, and then nothing! It took a dimensional portal!
I called Chronopost 3 times, and they themselves told me the package is lost (sic!), that an investigation needs to be launched quickly, and Vinted support responds with bots, they don’t even read what I write because they respond the same thing every time, that we have to wait 25 working days (in short, to be sure the package will be lost!).
And the support is in English. I’m furious to see that nowadays, we can no longer have real direct support from individuals but have to go through bots because it costs less. AI has a bright future ahead of it. Everything is done to waste customers’ time so they give up out of weariness.
Why is it that every time it’s something hard to find, the package is lost?
I specify that I hate Chronopost, they already destroyed a very rare synthesizer for me, I contested, went through the post office conciliator, they didn’t collect the registered mail, they stalled for time, and after a year they told me « oh well, it’s been a year, the statute of limitations has passed, case closed. »
The worst part? Chronopost is one of our clients, to equip them with a package tracking system! So I know internally why they lose them when I see how it happens in the warehouses, I visited one a few weeks ago… yes, there is still manual sorting by people in bins for dispatch!
In short, there is a 95% chance that we will just be compensated (seller and I) for the sale value, but the item had a nice Christmas for someone…
Hello, a colleague and I were wondering how carriers manage to « lose » only the nice things… I’ve removed Chronopost from the possible choices on Vinted. Positive result, I have far fewer packages disappearing. Beyond a certain value, I’ve also stopped sending high-end or luxury items. I only accept Colissimo or UPS, or with the verification service when possible (which is rare). I’d rather miss a sale and keep the dress I had so much trouble finding (it’s not always a question of money, indeed). It will sell elsewhere. On Vestiaire Collective, the agreements with carriers are better, and so is customer service. Few losses, quick refunds. Vinted focuses on volume, not quality. See you soon.
Indeed, I do the same, I try not to go through shop 2 shop but often I have no choice for the carrier, I am in the countryside and unfortunately there are fewer and fewer drop-off points. Two more closed last month.
I understand. I also travel several kilometers to drop off packages at the locker.
I had very few, but I also noticed two losses on shipments from December. The amounts were €2 and €11. It’s not just the expensive items that get lost…
I had a good run there but no big sales and only Vinted Go. No big sales in absolute terms and I was reimbursed each time but systematically packages that could not go through the locker. Their system is really rotten.
The absurd thing is having to wait 25 working days when it’s Chronopost that asks to launch an investigation right away.
I have to wait until January 22nd for a package sent on December 17th! Ah, in that case, it will have had time to get lost permanently!
In the meantime, I received another item that left Spain and took 3 days to arrive…
another automatic response.
frankly Vinted, it’s becoming a mess and since it’s not French, there’s no recourse, you have to contact the European dispute system.
Already, just the support in English, I’m not sure if that’s really legal. Support should be in the language of the country normally from memory, just like a manual for a device.
They also modified their terms and conditions in September 2025.
according to Chronopost:
Respect claim deadlines: delays, loss, or damaged packages must be reported quickly (often between 3 and 21 days depending on the type of shipment and contract).
Therefore, Vinted waiting 25 days ensures that nothing can be done to find the package.
Good evening,
When you make a claim on Vinted, you are offered the option to receive a response in English to speed up the processing, but you must tick an additional box. So you explicitly agree to another language for the response ![]()
Now I completely understand how… frustrating/complicated and annoying it is! I’m just making this clarification on the subject.
yes, except that this is the second time I have asked them to reply in French.
otherwise I wouldn’t have made the remark.
with of course their usual automatic response « thank you for getting back to us I understand your frustration regarding the situation blah blah » which they have posted at least 3 times above.
This time I asked them to confirm that they have read and understood what I wrote, namely that after 21 days, no further claim will be possible with Chronopost. and therefore after their famous 25-day deadline. so the move to start their investigation is a sham.
anyway they know that we are not lawyers, that we don’t have the funds or the time and that therefore they have nothing to fear from their unhappy customers.
the proof with what Chronopost did to me, by prolonging the procedure and in the end by using the statute of limitations after a year.
it cost me time, registered letters, exchanges with the postal conciliator for… nothing!
Hello, Same here!
It’s crazy, when I send 35 packages for €1 to clear out my closets, they always arrive at their destination, but when it’s an Apple Watch, it strangely disappears… The snow is a convenient excuse!
yes, speaking of which, regarding the Chronopost customer service I called earlier, they are once again telling us that they have delays due to bad weather, lol!
for your information, here is the follow-up.
He surely took a dimensional portal in Toulouse with Rick and Morty
This morning’s joke? I have another package sent by Leboncoin via Shop2Shop…
I just received this email:
Hello,
The delivery of your Leboncoin package xxxx3086894TS is taking a little longer than expected.
Rest assured, it will be available in the coming days at your Relais Pickup point.
You will be notified by email as soon as it arrives.
Well, the only Chronopost package I’ve had that got lost was from the exact same sorting center and to the same destination city (I remember well because I’m not very far from there)
For your information, I have initiated a consumer complaint procedure.
Vinted responded to me with the same thing by email as by message on the app, they only know how to repeat the same thing, including when I tell them that their 25-day waiting period will not allow them to launch an investigation afterwards since it is beyond the 21 days for Chronopost.
I ask them if they have understood, and they always reply with their automatic message, carefully deleting the conversation history from the emails below each time.
example, what I sent by email:
—————-
Always the same answer as on your support via your site then.I told you and I repeat it, Chronopost asks to launch an investigation within a maximum of 21 days!
With your mandatory 25-day waiting period, you then make the investigation with Chronopost impossible.

Vinted email response:
