I sold an item but the buyer did not collect the package.
The package was therefore returned to me, unfortunately, it is still to this day stuck at the Chronopost agency « awaiting delivery instructions » (yet my address is clearly present on the slip for the return).
So I called Chronopost who explained to me that I could do nothing except ask Vinted to provide them with the return instructions because they are the contractual shippers.
I informed Vinted of the situation and they (after several follow-ups) finally transmitted the information to Chronopost, telling me that my package tracking should update, but if it didn’t, Vinted could do nothing more for me (what a joke).
As I expected, three days later, still no tracking update. So I called Chronopost again who informed me that Vinted had never contacted them
I also went to the said agency to inquire, brazenly. The employee went to look for my package in their premises but found nothing… And just asked me to wait.
I don’t really know what to do at the moment. Vinted’s service seems extremely inefficient, I don’t know whether to contact them again now or wait for their famous 25-day period to get serious.
I have never read a similar case (on the forum or elsewhere). What is the latest instruction given by Vinted after the situation was re-opened? Is there a deadline for updating the package, for example? Or do we go directly to the 25-day period?
Thank you.
In your place, I would send a message indicating that the tracking has not been updated and that you do not understand why. « Chronopost indicates that it is up to Vinted to act. Has the necessary been done to provide the instructions and return address? » or something in the same vein
I relaunched Vinted 3 days ago, explaining the situation to them.
They first replied that it was up to me to give instructions to Chronopost. I therefore explained to them that Chronopost would not listen and that they required Vinted to transmit the information to them.
Vinted then replied that they could no longer do anything for me.
I found out by chance, while checking my package tracking on Chronopost, that my package had been delivered to a pickup point and that I had been notified by email/SMS (I received nothing, of course).
So I went to the pickup point in question to collect it, but it wasn’t listed in the locker under my name… I had to give the name of the person who had bought the item from me for it to work
Fortunately, the employee was flexible and didn’t refuse to give me the package due to an identity issue…
Your buyer likely received this email/text message if the package was in their name at your pickup point.
In the end, did you manage to retrieve your package? That’s good news!
Thank you for coming to the forum to share the outcome, it will help others in a similar situation.
