Buyer: Finalizing sale of lost package

Hello,

In late October 2025, I purchased an item with Chronopost delivery to a pickup point. The tracking only shows « available at Pickup point, » but does not indicate « picked up or received by recipient, » and the status has not changed for over 4 weeks.
I went to the pickup point twice, and the shopkeeper confirmed they had no package in my name. I sent Vinted a sworn statement explaining this, but they first repeatedly insisted I go pick up the package, then announced an investigation with the carrier lasting 35 days, and finally closed the transaction, paid the seller, and refused to refund me, claiming I had not provided proof that I did not have the package in my possession (even though that is precisely what I did via the sworn statement of non-receipt and presentation at the pickup point).
I am therefore left without the package and without a refund, even though the pickup point denies having received the package, the tracking shows no receipt, and no so-called investigation has been conducted.
Has anyone ever experienced this kind of situation and managed to get a refund? Do you think I should demand an amicable settlement or directly contact the DGCCRF?
The package cost 44 euros, but what bothers me most is not the money but Vinted’s lack of consideration. They no longer respond to my requests and close conversations directly.
Thank you for your advice

Hello,
Welcome to the forum!

Sorry for this situation :downcast_face_with_sweat: Have you tried contacting Chronopost about this? Sometimes discussing with the carrier is more effective than Vinted..

Hello,

I am in the exact same situation.

Chronopost package supposedly available at the pickup point on Wednesday, February 18th with email notification and confirmed by package tracking.

On Thursday, the package was not there and, above all, it was not registered by the pickup point (it was not in the large bag containing Chronopost packages…) and I was able to confirm its absence with the shopkeeper.

I contacted Chronopost on Thursday, who replied: « Following verification, I do note that the package is marked as available at the pickup point. However, as it is a Shop2shop package, please contact VINTED so that a search request can be initiated on their platform. As they are professionals, their search request is processed as quickly as possible. »

As the package was still not there on Friday, the shopkeeper noted on his terminal that the package was marked « out for delivery » and that the package was not at his pickup point.

I contacted Vinted, who passed the buck back to Chronopost, replying among other things: « Contact the carrier’s customer service using the phone number indicated on the instructions. »

So it’s a vicious circle for a package that is clearly lost or even stolen…

This is not serious, and I sent a new message to Vinted this morning asking for a refund for the lost package…

Sincerely.
