I bought an electric pepper grinder that I can’t open to put in the batteries and, of course, to fill it (the rotation system is blocked) and there’s a part (?) inside that moves around.
The seller asked for a return but I have to pay the shipping costs! This seller « adam790124 » doesn’t want to know anything about it! maybe he intends to resell it to another buyer who will be fooled too
I submitted the issue to Vinted who replied with « canned » messages that are useless to me! The return shipping costs will be deducted from my refund.
Vinted can intervene in the dispute if you cannot reach a compromise with the seller. In my opinion, this is your only way out if you do not wish to pay the return costs and they refuse to budge.
The solution of returns accepted at the buyer’s expense is the one that Vinted now implements by default, because it’s the best.
Indeed, how do you expect Vinted to rule between a buyer in good faith whose pepper mill is defective and a buyer in bad faith who no longer wants this mill and would claim it is defective simply to return it?
Is it impossible for Vinted to test the pepper mill?
So this is how Vinted works. And it’s the best of solutions.
Thank you very much for your answer, but this is not normal. It’s a small sum now, but will it be the same when it’s more expensive?
Vinted should implement a service that can confirm that the product is indeed defective and rule in favor of the honest buyer while sanctioning the dishonest seller, but of course, they are content with simply acting as an intermediary, which is cheaper!
Vestiaire Collective does it for clothing, but in return, they take a much larger commission.
You surely don’t think that it’s the derisory commission Vinted takes that makes it possible to finance such a service.
Would it be desirable for Vinted to multiply its commission by 4 or 5 and in return offer such a service? Obviously not. Nobody would follow.
Only high-end clothing and accessories (and even then, not all brands) and luxury items. There is no flea market. The commissions are worthwhile if the quality of both parties is respected. On Vestiaire Co, scams are rare. Members who behave badly are banned. They sometimes refused my items. I grumbled, but ultimately I prefer more precautions than the « Court of Miracles ». Even if we don’t always have only luxury items to sell, so we also make do with the options offered…
