Did you see? Can you buy eggs on Vinted?

Hello

What a surprise to see Vinted becoming practically a branch of Jardiland with the sale of plants and flowers. I also found nails and eggs there (isn’t food prohibited?).

It’s a real mess. When I think that a few years ago I was banned for selling a sugar bowl. But yes, a sugar bowl was not part of tableware. Let’s laugh…

So, while the eggs are not normal, the rest doesn’t shock me since Vinted opened a garden and DIY category :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

With plants, it’s an open door to complaints. Bare-root cuttings!!! In what condition will you receive them? And if you can’t repot them. I hope Vinted has thought about hiring staff to handle complaints. Some sellers have no idea what packaging is. I already received a textile item directly without protection in a plastic envelope. I pinched the garment when opening it. Luckily my scissors weren’t sharp.

So, food is normally forbidden but, if you want to split hairs and read their terms and conditions, at no point is food officially prohibited. Things like medication, used cosmetics, yes, but nothing about food. Not to mention that I now see laundry detergent and other cleaning products… What category does that fall into?

Looking quickly at the categories, plants are no more allowed than food. And it’s also clearly stated that the list of prohibited items is not exhaustive, it’s common sense ^^

I agree on the principle of common sense, but they could very well add a clause: All food products and drinks.
By dint of playing with common sense, it will be like in the USA: it’s not written? Therefore I have the right, otherwise lawsuit!

Can you imagine all the paragraphs?

No dangerous chemicals, no organs, no human beings, and so on…

There is a list of what is allowed with the categories. If the category doesn’t exist, it means they don’t allow it

The USA is not a role model in this regard :face_without_mouth:

Vinted, like other platforms, is not responsible for transactions, so no, they are not going to hire.

Some sellers have no idea what packaging is. I once received a textile item directly without protection in a plastic envelope.

I’ve always done it, no problem, plus it’s lighter to transport = less energy, less time to prepare, and economical on all levels, time, money, materials. You can’t be serious.

You can go out in a down jacket in the middle of July in case it gets cold, but the precautionary principle is a huge brake. (Thanks to the USA and their stupid lawsuits for everything and anything)
