New to the forum, need help with Vinted Pro

Hello everyone,

I recently joined this forum and for the first time, I dare to participate because I have real questions.

I’m a professional seller on Vinted, and everything was going well until now. I was restricted a few days ago, and Vinted deleted items from my wardrobe.

I’m trying to understand what I did that could have led to this restriction, and they are not responding to my various messages, so I’m left in the dark. Furthermore, I proceeded to extract my data and saw numerous reports for bulk selling.

I sell new items that I list as very good condition; I sometimes have duplicate or triplicate items. I never list them at the same time; I wait until I’ve sold the first one before relisting the second, reusing photos (admittedly with the same background, which could eventually be seen as a duplicate). The terms and conditions are not very explicit regarding relisting an item that has already been posted in the past. Also, I don’t know if I’m allowed to post 3 similar items in different sizes at the same time…

Could someone tell me if:

The restriction is due to new items (again, never listed as new in the categories)

Reports?

Or other things I haven’t thought of?

Today, I’m hesitant to post… I don’t really know what went against me.

Welcome, and don’t panic, your situation is quite common and rather recoverable.

From what you describe, the most probable trigger is the « wholesale selling » reports you saw in your listing, much more than selling new items (selling new items is allowed, especially professionally). When an account has multiple identical or very similar new items, the algorithm and buyers interpret it as shop or wholesale resale behavior, and the accumulation of reports eventually triggers a restriction with deletion of the affected listings.

The second factor is your reposts with the same photo background. Vinted detects duplicates by image: reposting an item with exactly the same photos, or posting multiple sizes with the same visual, can be interpreted as duplication or spam. Your intuition is good. The solution is simple: take different photos (background, angle, lighting) for each listing and each repost, so that nothing is identical in the eyes of the algorithm.

Posting 3 different sizes at the same time is not forbidden in itself, but combined with the rest, it reinforces the « professional stock » signal. So, until things calm down, I would ease up on the volume and space out your listings.

As for the restriction itself, messages to support often fall into the void, but there are more formal recourse options when they don’t respond: Vinted’s DPO, then the CNIL for data protection, and Signal Conso. A guide details the step-by-step procedure, reasons for blocking, and how to contest properly: Compte Vinted bloqué : comment débloquer | Friptadium

Hang in there, by varying your photos and spacing out your posts a bit, things usually get back in order.

Thank you very much for the quick reply

I sent an email to legal, the DPO, and Signal Conso right after my restriction (thank you very much for that, by the way, because I had read all the steps here :pink_heart:). I never got a response, and I plan to insist to cover myself in case of a second restriction (I would have their response to support me if it’s positive).

Yes, I strongly suspect mass reporting because I sometimes get 4 or 5 reports within seconds of each other , and I hope not to be restricted again.

In your opinion, can I repost the Vinted listings that were removed by changing the background? I understand that I can, following your message.

Last question also (I’m taking the opportunity): selling a single, unique brand could also be a problem, right?

Otherwise, I don’t know if I should calm down in terms of publications, but I find my usual pace to be rather moderate, 5-6 items per day and rather 20-30 on weekends. On the other hand, for items that I have in triple, I repost immediately after printing the first shipping label..

Hello, I just read your message. I’m in the same situation as you, I’ve been a pro member since December and I had a few bans here and there but very spaced out, and for the past month I’ve been banned every week. When I download my data, I have mass reports as soon as I post an article. It’s very discouraging, and Vinted never responds, or their responses are generic…

All this because of human stupidity…
A maximum of morons (there’s no other word) who salivate over sending reports for nothing…
When will this stupidity stop?

It’s still infuriating…

I would like to give you a solution that works but I am like you… Vinted does not respond… maybe others more experienced can help us but if we keep reporting each other endlessly and Vinted does nothing, I don’t see what solution we have… did you email the DPO? I asked to know if the restriction was automated or if an analysis of my account was actually carried out to arrive at this measure

Absolutely unfair if we are then restricted without prior study of our case…

no I didn’t send an email to the DPO, I don’t know if it’s really useful, for me it’s just one of my subscribers who reports me as soon as I post an article because it happens at the same time… It’s unfair… some people sell counterfeits or anything else on Vinted without ever having anything, and when you follow the rules, you get reported by jealous people. It drives me crazy…

Every time they respond to me, Vinted tells me it’s an error, we’re unblocking you, and then I post again and immediately after I’m banned again… even with a solid case, the discussion leads nowhere without ever getting any concrete answers.

The problem is that selling only new items, even as a professional, and even by trying to cheat the system with « very good condition » is not enough to avoid being flagged sooner or later, either by Vinted or by reports, as is your case. Vinted was designed exclusively for second-hand items and new items should remain a minority. It is better to look for other websites.
