Sales restrictions this weekend

Hello everyone,

I’m posting here because I’m facing a completely incomprehensible situation and I’m trying to find out if other sellers (Pro or Personal) are in the same boat.

I’ve been a Pro seller on Vinted for over 5 years, with no major disputes or warnings. I have several distinct businesses with dedicated Pro accounts, all in good standing.

For a few days now, it’s been terrible. All my Pro accounts have been restricted at exactly 2-3 day intervals.

Even stranger: the personal accounts of my loved ones (family, friends), which technically have no connection to mine, were also restricted for « Commercial Sales » between last Friday and Sunday.

Massive restrictions for 5 days without distinction (Pro and Personal), even for accounts without many items or huge sales.

Closets that have nothing to do with each other are being targeted.

Support responds with automatic messages mentioning « unauthorized commercial activities, » even though some accounts are already registered as Professional.

I feel like Vinted’s algorithm has tightened its criteria, but am I perhaps an isolated case?

  1. Have you noticed an increase in similar blocks since early February?
  2. For those who have been unblocked, what was your approach (standard support, mediator, formal notice)?
  3. Have any of you managed to get a human response and not a bot?

This has been my work tool for years, and this situation is critical. Thank you in advance for your experiences and help!

Hello,

Yes, there has been a massive resurgence of restrictions/blockages in recent weeks… take a look here, you’ll find quite a few testimonials and discussions on the subject, also on dedicated FB groups for professionals or not…

Good luck

Good luck to you, are you selling a lot of new products?

I received a kind warning message from Vinted last week.
I am already a Pro but I think I will be blocked or banned soon.

Here is the message:
Subject « Selling large quantities […] »
Hello XXX,
We are delighted to see that your profile is particularly active on Vinted!

We simply wish to remind you that selling items in large quantities can be considered a commercial activity. Here is some information about our policy on this matter. In accordance with our Catalog Rules, you can only engage in commercial activity if you are a Pro seller.

You can find more information here: Commercial Sales.

For the moment, no action has been taken regarding your listings or your profile. Nevertheless, please keep these guidelines in mind and avoid listing items for commercial purposes. If you wish to continue selling large quantities of items, you can become a Vinted Pro member and thus sell an unlimited number of second-hand items, if this option is available in your country.

What is a Pro seller?

Second-hand items can be sold for commercial purposes on Vinted only by Pro sellers. You can become a Pro seller on Vinted if you are a sole proprietor, a non-profit organization, or a registered company in the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, or the United Kingdom.

If you are in one of these situations, you can convert your current account to a Pro account or have 2 accounts: one for personal use and one Vinted Pro account.

ⓘ Create a separate Pro account

If you wish to keep this account for personal use, please remove all commercial listings. Otherwise, we will be obliged to block your account, as commercial selling is only permitted with a Pro account. Learn more about creating a Pro account.

ⓘ Convert your current account to a Pro account

Before converting your account, please remove all listings that are not permitted on a Pro seller profile. Here are some examples of items that Pro sellers are not allowed to sell:

  • Cosmetics
  • A large number of new items or items with tags
  • Made-to-order or rental services
  • Handmade items as a craftsperson or creator
  • Items purchased wholesale or generally sold via low-value dropshipping

Learn more about professional selling.

To convert your account, go to the dedicated registration page for professional sellers. Once your account is converted to a Vinted Pro account, you can still create a new account for non-commercial use (using a different email address and phone number).

Happy selling!

The Vinted Support Team

Thank you for your response. Honestly, I am very careful not to post new items with or without tags because I understood after four years that it quickly caused a problem.

Honestly, I have no explanation. Before, I could understand why I was blocked, but now, between the different accounts, they are different devices with different IP addresses and different internet connections, and the item listings respect all Vinted rules. The only thing is the quantity of sales, but unfortunately, the goal of pro accounts is not to be limited on the number of sales

Are you selling the same items with the same photos (even slightly modified) between your professional Vinted accounts or those of your relatives?
The same bank card to pay between 2 accounts?
The same ID card during KYC to unlock the Vinted wallet?
Do you have multiple companies to have multiple professional Vinted accounts, or are the bank account details in the name of the same company?

Given the massive wave of restrictions recently, there’s certainly something else Vinted is detecting

Thank you for your message, what you’re saying is very interesting

So to summarize

The bank account names are exactly the same but the RIBs are different

The items are all different, but it’s true that for the past week I’ve been reposting using the same photos initially posted

My ID verification was only done on 2 out of 4 active accounts

So I imagine it’s due to the identical photos being reposted without modifications, that’s the only parameter that has changed for me

It’s frustrating because for 4 years I had the impression that Vinted had become dormant, especially since the majority of professional sellers here are honest and we’re not trying to scam anyone

I remember that in 2021 it was about the same hassle, but even more annoying, if an account was blocked, it automatically blocked everyone who had the misfortune of passing through your Wi-Fi (friends, family)

But anyway, in total, with my friends and family and myself (half professional accounts / half private accounts), I counted 18 accounts blocked for the same reason between Friday noon and Sunday evening, all one by one for the same reasons, even though most of the accounts are not linked

I also use the same photos to repost (or very slight edits), but I haven’t been blocked yet.
Apparently, it’s the use of the same photo on different accounts that has led to strikes in recent weeks.
If you know 18 people who have been blocked in 3 days, then it’s certainly the same problem as many of us:

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you for sharing, there are indeed several posts on the same topic, including here: Blocage 30 jours alors que l'article n'est déjà plus dans mon dressing - #6 par sushiwazabi
And here Restriction abusive d'un compte pro pour ventes commerciales - #47 par vintoche
This one also shows that Vinted sends messages… But without it being really well targeted :smiling_face_with_tear:
Compte pro > avertissement, vous devez passez pro - #34 par Sev

Hello, if I understand correctly, Vinted allows one and only one professional account plus one and only one personal account. No new items, no crafts, no counterfeits (that was the Vintimilles market before), no dropshipping, no fur, no human trafficking (because Vinted was hot), no second-hand lingerie (except new items), etc. Vinted was blown up by the French and European justice system. Vinted cross-references its information with social security, tax, and health authorities, etc. Even that of your brother-in-law or your grandmother (you don’t teach an old dog new tricks…). In short, by provoking the beast, it ends up biting. And since the beast is a stupid AI, it attacks everyone indiscriminately. Even those who are by the book. A little flexibility would be welcome, it’s true, but we won’t get it as long as there are abuses.

It’s unbelievable, still no response from customer service…

In case you’re motivated:

Consumer Protection Procedure: Vinted Pro Account Block

If your Pro account is restricted for « Commercial sales, » stop talking to the bots and go through the official channel:

1. On the signal.conso.gouv.fr website:

  • Path: Choose « Online purchase » > « A website » (then « Other »).

  • The company: Make sure to identify VINTED SAS (53 Avenue Hoche, 75008 Paris).

2. The text to copy into the description:

« Dispute of abusive restriction of my Vinted Pro account <> I am registered. Vinted is restricting my account for ‹ commercial activity, › which contradicts my validated Pro status. This decision violates European Regulation P2B (2019/1150), which requires the platform to provide a precise, non-automated reason. I request the immediate lifting of the restriction. »

3. Validation:

  • Make sure to check « YES » so that Vinted is informed of the report.

4. Final pressure tactic: Once you receive the case number, send it to Vinted support:

« Report filed with the DGCCRF under no. [Your Number]. I expect my professional access to be restored within 48 hours. »

It’s the multiplication of these reports with the keyword « P2B Regulation » that will force them to react.

I hope they get a record fine for deceptive commercial practices.

It’s more that you are using multiple accounts with the same IP or same name that must be the problem. They must think you are not respecting the agreement of 1 pro account and 1 personal account. Too many jokers who massively use multiple accounts, some have more than 2, 3, 4… They must be casting a wide net to calm things down. Victims of their success and victims of malicious resellers who multiply the number of accounts through illicit means. Buyer bot accounts, multiple family accounts used, from certain platforms that offer multiple accounts, in short. It’s becoming a mess, with all these stupid influencers giving unconventional tips to make money etc., it’s a scourge.

I think they are totally overwhelmed.

I am on a restricted account for 5 days too…

I am trying to understand and analyze the issue from all angles. PRO account blocked, personal account blocked. I wonder if this didn’t happen after republishing an item I had sold and put back on sale with the same photos. Maybe Vinted wants to block the sale of the same items :woman_shrugging:

This cannot be due to republishing on Clemz because I only have my PRO account on it.

It’s up to you to tell me if this matches your situation?

EDIT:

In fact, I have scrutinized their Terms and Conditions and the trap is there: the algorithm doesn’t just look at your Pro status, it scans your stock.

As soon as you offer the same model in different sizes or colors, or if you relist an identical item, Vinted considers it « commercial » wholesale. And that is forbidden even to Pros, who are supposed to sell only unique second-hand items.

In short, they force us to be Pro for tax purposes, but block us if we have stock like a real store. The only trick is to never post duplicates at the same time and to change the photos!
