Recreate account after ban. Phone reset

Good evening everyone,

First of all, thank you for this forum and for those who participate in it, it’s a real goldmine for me and I’ve learned a lot by browsing the posts.

I need your insights on recreating my account after a permanent ban.

Like many other Vinties, my account has been banned.

I’ve read (on Vinted or Tik Tok, which isn’t a reference…) things to do to be able to create a new one.

New email address, new IP on the router, new bank account details, etc…

Regarding the device used for the new account, I heard that a phone that had a banned account needs to be factory reset.

But at the same time, I heard that for Android devices, a factory reset is not enough, you actually need another phone, whereas for iPhones, you can use the same one if you change the iCloud account (I think…).

If you can confirm that a factory reset is sufficient, or if you really need to change phones for those on Android (like me).

Thank you for your answers :folded_hands:

I confirm, my account was banned after 12 hours without me doing anything.

I had reset the phone, changed the SIM card, created a new email with no link to the other account, and I was immediately banned!

However, I managed to recover an old account (created a long time ago) but as a precaution I only run it on Tor.

Good luck

Change of phone number and email.

But it might cause issues if it’s the same IBAN at some point.

The reset on Android works without any issues, I’ve already done it. However, a new phone number and IBAN are required.

Which is actually quite easy now with all the platforms that exist.

For the number, a SIM card for €10 and a subscription for €1.99.

For the IBAN, it’s free on many sites/apps.

Hello, thank you for all your information, which is a goldmine on any topic! Regarding the new IBAN, does it have to be under a different name, or can it remain in the same name? Have a good day.

The same name does not pose a problem.

I was banned last August, and created a new account in October. At first, I only logged in on my computer and browser. (For several days, I had cleared the app data and uninstalled the app)

I turned off my phone before reinstalling the app. And there were no issues logging in (my account has remained active since)

Of course, new email address and phone number (I used my partner’s number)

My old account is « deleted » but there is still a trace with Vinted (I couldn’t add my old IBAN)

So indeed, afterwards, you have to completely change your identity (because the day there will be an ID check, if the bank account is not in the same name as the ID, it might cause problems)

Quick question, but the vinties who get banned and create new accounts, do you not want to go all the way with the process or is it another reason? Or is it simply that it’s truly permanent…

When you say after the procedures, are you talking about contesting the decision?

I was blocked several times on my old account. The first few times, it wasn’t legitimate. I had to fight to get them to listen to me, but it worked.

The last block. I had foolishly pushed the limits a bit too much. Recovering my account was not possible. Officially, since it’s been 7 months, it’s deleted. But they still have all the traces of my data. My new account is therefore under my partner’s entire identity
