No Vinted transporter please

When the listing specifies not to choose Vinted Go and the buyer chooses it anyway; since I don’t want to spend my time fruitlessly looking for a locker for 10 euros, what would you do in my place? Should I try to post it once and if I don’t find a spot, just give up? PS: He tells me he had no carrier choice.

Hello,

As shipping options are regularly restricted for buyers, I will take the time to drop the package at a Vinted Go point, but I am in a large city with several options if needed. :slightly_smiling_face: (Several lockers for Mondial Relay and Vinted Go, and Shop2shop relay points)

As usual, no lockers available. I cancelled the order at the buyer’s request.

.

Hello

Since you cancelled the transaction, it’s a bit late but you could have perhaps checked with the buyer to help them verify the available carriers… if they are new to this, it’s possible they don’t know how to select another one…

He told me he only had that choice.

I sell but I also buy and confirm that when buying, I don’t always have a choice of carrier.

Another buyer who chose Vintedgo despite my warnings on my profile and on each listing. This is my 6th attempt to drop off their package.:face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

VintedGo has become a sport in itself

Personally, I cancel after the 3rd or 4th attempt. We want to help buyers, but making 6 trips for one package is no longer reasonable.

The problem mainly lies with the relay point network, not the seller.

This is why I try to use relay points as much as possible; at least I don’t have to deal with full lockers, and there’s no risk of the infamous « the delivery driver found an empty locker. »

But there’s also the issue of not giving sellers the choice, when THEY know if a package will be a problem for lockers. It’s really stupid of Vinted to impose their service without having the infrastructure to support it.

you would put a huge fluorescent « no Vinted Go » logo with an alarm siren sound and they would still manage to take it.

A solution that isn’t very fair to other buyers is to make all your packages medium-sized. Vinted, come up with shipping options.

The majority of my packages are « average »

I canceled the previous sale after 11 attempts… A seller (Italian) went through Vinted Go again, telling me he had no choice; and this time, bingo! We’ll end up popping champagne for the times it works the first time.:bottle_with_popping_cork:

It must depend on the categories then, because Vinted Go works for me. They even take bundles.

I was saying that I didn’t want Vinted Go because the lockers are often full and there’s no space…

I sell but I also buy items. And I can assure you that for 80% of my purchases, Vinted only offers me Vinted Go as a carrier and often via lockers only. And having asked them the question, the sellers confirmed to me that they had not excluded other carriers… So, you can write it in large letters, in bold, and in color that you do not want to ship via Vinted Go, the system imposes it on customers. Furthermore, as Vinted Go is one of the cheapest, do not be surprised that, between the price of the item and the protection and shipping costs, the customer chooses the cheapest carrier…

And that there is currently a drop in sales, for the reason cited « the system imposes it on customers »,
a customer who had already ordered from me on Vinted wanted to buy another item from me this morning, but Mondial Relay was not offered to her, which she had used for her previous order.
So, fortunately, she warned me, and I was able to direct her elsewhere.
I don’t even dare to imagine the number of people who don’t bother to contact the seller and just walk away…

This is indeed one of the factors behind the observed decline. However, after months without a single sale, I sold 6 items in quick succession, perhaps because I decided to declutter, post, and price things reasonably? Of the 6 sales, 5 were via Vinted Go, 1 via DPD… This latter carrier is expensive, slow, and has the least reliable tracking for me, but it seems unavoidable for and from the Netherlands and Germany, apparently.

So be careful, Vinted Go subcontracts with foreign carriers. Basically, they take care of delivery to a foreign platform.

There are never universally applicable rules, but in any case, I’ve just had an unexpected killer end of the month for June, even during the sales period, and I’m starting today very, very strong. The reason? Vinted hasn’t given me any problems for a month and a half, and visibility seems good for the past 15 days.

Visibility certainly helps. But do you always publish in volume, or not particularly? For my part, I had the impression of being more visible when I published several articles in quick succession. Which was the case recently, after months of a desert (since last fall, in fact). But since I’m neither a professional nor in a hurry, I observe and try to understand what drives the system
