Vinted ad invisibility issue (shadow ban?)

Hello everyone,

Since around May, my new listings or reposts of listings have no longer been getting any views or favorites. At first, I thought it was a simple Vinted bug, but time has not changed anything. Even if I repost some listings, they permanently remain at 0 views and 0 favorites, whereas before, as soon as I reposted a listing, I always had at least some views.

Suffice it to say that I am making practically no sales anymore. On the other hand, buying is no problem.

This summer, I sent a message to Vinted customer service to explain my problem, and 48 hours later, I received an automated response that was completely off the mark :tired_face:

I am starting to wonder if my account has not been shadow banned unfairly.

Earlier this year, one of my listings, which had been online for some time, was hidden because it supposedly did not comply with the rules. Hidden but automatically put back online a while later. It makes no sense…

I am looking for the cause of this shadow ban and I have understood that I will not get any help from customer service, which sends automated responses and solves nothing at all.

The only thing I do regularly is put myself in vacation mode for 2 days each week because I can only drop off packages once a week. So I am forced to « close my shop Â» so that I can send the packages within the deadlines. But I don’t think the problem comes from there because I have always proceeded this way and I have never had any problems.

I would like to know if there are other people here in the same situation as me and if they have found a solution.

I don’t have a similar issue, but here are a few ideas to help you:

  • Have you checked, via smart dressing, the number of impressions on your items? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s the latest video that can help you. :right_arrow: Click here
  • Have you tried weeks without being in vacation mode? You can explain to a buyer that the package will be dropped off on a certain day. If you really need to, you can extend the shipping deadline (we discuss it on the forum here :right_arrow: NouveautĂ©s Vinted ! La prolongation de l'envoi).
    You can even specify this in your listings beforehand.

I think (and I’m really not sure at all) that using vacation mode too regularly might impact your visibility. Vinted encourages its sellers to be consistent in posting listings… and everything related to it. But again, this is just my interpretation :wink:

Hello, you have the option to request an additional extension when editing the shipping label, and it seems to me that the deadline has been extended; you don’t need, I think, to put yourself in vacation mode :wink:

I just went to your closet and gave you 2 likes, and there are a few views, but most of your listings are 4-6 months old, which is why you have no visibility!

leadie91, thanks for the 2 favorites but here’s the thing, I didn’t get any notifications even though I didn’t have any problems before. And yes, my listings are old because I don’t even dare to repost them for fear of losing views and favorites :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::tired_face:

Hello, has your problem been resolved? I’ve had the same issue for 5 days and I’m really desperate. As soon as I add a new item, I get 0 views! Whereas before I had some :disappointed_face: I know it’s neither the photos nor the descriptions that are the problem.

Hello, yes I see them in my smart dressing but I have always had views on my items but now it’s blocked at 0

So I had exactly the same problem in August after putting my closet in vacation mode. Listings were no longer appearing in the search engine and not even by clicking on my tags. Then a few started to reappear little by little. And by testing with my wife’s account, I realized that they were unblocking by viewing them and marking them as favorites. Why? I don’t know. But I unblocked my whole closet like that.

Yes, things have been better since I stopped putting myself in vacation mode. In the meantime, I’ve republished items and posted new listings. Business isn’t booming; I haven’t made any sales yet, but I’m getting a few likes and views again.

In my opinion, Vinted must have changed something in its algorithm since the « Top Wardrobe Â» badge was implemented. My invisibility problems coincidentally started around the same time this badge was introduced. And I think it’s the same for many people.
