How to know if you are shadowbanned?

Hello, I don’t know if I’m actually « shadowbanned » but my last 15 posts have no stats, about ten of them have 0 views, and today I had very few favorites. I notice that traffic is extremely random, with periods where I get 10 times fewer views and favorites on listings. How can one know if it’s really a problem with Vinted, like a shadowban or a market downturn? Vinted is a rollercoaster for me. I’m willing to accept that there are harder days than others, but going from one extreme to another 2-3 times a month makes me question things…

And if you have any tips to avoid shadowbans, I’m curious :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for your feedback

Hi,

Personally, I went from a period where I sold a lot in December to almost nothing in January, so I’m in the same boat as you and it’s quite demoralizing. I thought I had been shadowbanned last summer but in the end, activity had picked up well in Sept/Oct, but now for me it’s a disaster. Very little visibility, which naturally means a drop in sales on my end. I’ll follow this conversation, maybe I’ll get some answers too

And when I say a drop in sales, I’m not talking about a slight drop, but a drop of more than 2/3 of my usual turnover… So there must be an explanation. Algorithm, shadowban, sales… all of that at the same time, maybe. Are you a professional seller or an individual?

Hi, I’m pro too, it’s the same for me when I say sales are down, it’s a big drop, I was averaging €70 per day at the beginning of the month and since the 10th I haven’t even exceeded €50 and an average of €20/30 per day, yesterday I made €0 today no sales yet, it’s really very demoralizing. I find that even if there are sales, it’s a very big drop when I see that 3/4 of my listings have 0 views, I really question the algorithm or a shadowban… Hoping that the next few days will be happy days for us

I did a test, I searched for 3 ads that I posted recently with another account but the ads are not found..

I am indeed shadowbanned unfortunately.

Yeah, it’s the same for me (and many others) since May 2025. I think it’s intentional on Vinted’s part. Professionals are « accepted » but shown less than individuals… :face_with_steam_from_nose: Even when I sold better, my items still didn’t appear!

On the other hand, it’s true that if you have zero views on your published listings, then that’s very strange… Have you checked your reports? Did you use forbidden words like « paypal » or other words that might suggest you intend to sell outside the platform? If so, look no further, that’s surely it!

Half of my ads posted since yesterday have 0 views, some have 1 or 2, at most I’ve had 10 views and I posted 50. How do you know about the reports? And no, no forbidden words were used. I find it a bit unfair to block the « pros », fundamentally I understand that an individual will buy back with the money they sold, Vinted will earn more money, but hey, it’s unfair to us, we declare ourselves, we pay contributions and we have to work even harder for the same result… In short, it’s infuriating :joy:

Hello, I’m in the same situation as you, but I’m not a professional, and I think it’s the same whether you’re a professional or an individual. I started noticing a drop from February 2025, and it’s only gotten worse since then. I think Vinted has changed its algorithm, and not just in France, because people are complaining about the same thing on the English Vinted.

You go to settings → privacy settings → manage account data → and click on request a copy of your account data. You will receive the zip file by email and you will just have to download the one for reports (“alert by other members”) to see if you have received any  I warn you, it can be surprising  Let me know as soon as you have it, I’m curious to know if that’s really it!

And besides, you’ve just summarized the crux of the problem. We’re reporting less… It’s clearly disgusting, but unfortunately, there’s not much we can do about it

I think now, to sell well, you either need your own little community (Vinted followers or via another means like Insta), or you need a super niche and be the only one in your field, which is… almost impossible lol.

I have no reports :joy:

Niches come and go, it’s enough for a few people to opt-out and it’s over :expressionless_face:

So I recently noticed that the searches are still messing up a lot…

To know if you are Shadowbanned, several things:

  • Your ads are nowhere to be found (the easiest way is to search for your username / :warning: for pros, it’s the one before the @, not the « shop name »)
  • All messages you send are « seen » almost instantly, even if the person hasn’t logged in

And if you have another account to check with:

  • Try to send yourself a message (normally it’s not possible)
  • If you contact another account, the person won’t see the messages
  • If someone goes to your profile and adds favorites, they won’t appear in their favorites feed

If ever, to check the visibility of your items, you can also simply go through a browser without logging in and do a search.

Hello, I am sending you this message to try to reassure you a little, because you need to understand that at this time of year, there is a sharp drop in the overall market on Vinted. (See e-commerce depending on the platforms)

Post-holiday period, plus sales happening elsewhere than on Vinted.

From experience, I even manage to compensate with sales in November and December for the two weeks in mid-January that are very slow.

I have observed extreme sellers, they also have this drop in proportion, in views as well as in sales.

This could be an opportunity for you to think about managing your business, looking to develop it, and also to recharge your batteries if the previous months have been long in terms of work.

This is the beginning of another phase, do not force sales, go with the natural flow and prepare for what’s next, it’s better to be effective during the busy weeks than to exhaust yourself doing the same amount all year round, and Vinted is not anti-Pro sellers, far from it, they will give you the visibility you expect if your wardrobe is ready, and when demand is higher

I’ve tried everything, based on what you’re saying, I’m not shadowbanned. But there’s still something I can’t understand. I’ve done a lot of searches on Vinted with another account for my items, using « size » and « color » filters to narrow down the lists until I got to -200 listings, so I could scroll through and see where my items were, but each time, out of the dozen searches I performed, I never found my items. It’s strange though, is it possible that a minority can find my items, is Vinted making me invisible to certain accounts?

I did make a sale today and I have more favorites, but I still can’t find my items. I’m trying to understand by asking Vinted…

I agree with you, there’s a sharp decline, I noticed it from the first day of the sales, but for the past 2 days the decline has been even more significant. And the fact that I can’t find my ads worries me about the coming days.

What’s your Vinted? I’ll take a look and let you know

Thank you, that’s kind. My Vinted is arconcept.

Vinted’s search function is failing, and this has been observed for quite some time. It’s also incredibly annoying when you’re just a buyer: I type « black » into the search, and I still get red clothes in the first results.

I find myself searching for one of my listings daily using the book title, in order to delete the listing after selling it on another platform. I almost always get 150-200 search results, with titles that have only a distant, or even non-existent, relation to the search. My own listing ends up appearing only on the second page - meaning a typical buyer looking for the book in question will never see it.

Boosting listings daily is the solution: these listings account for 80% of Vinted’s sales.

So sometimes in the image, the item will indeed have nothing « black » about it, but there are many buyers who use 12 million keywords, even if they have nothing to do with each other :expressionless_face:
