Visibility issues and sales drop

Hello everyone!

Since March/April, I’ve noticed a huge drop in visibility and sales on Vinted, and I was wondering if I’m the only one experiencing this?
Before, I used to make several sales a day, and now if I get one, it’s almost a miracle! It’s really getting me down because it’s currently my only source of income (I’ve been a professional seller for 3 years), and I have absolutely no idea what to do.
I’ve tried changing my photos, reposting old listings, publishing at different times, nothing has changed…

I’d love to hear your feedback on this! Am I the only one? If you’ve had the same problem, have you found a solution?
Are there any support groups (Messenger, WhatsApp) to gain visibility?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

What’s your Vinted?

Hello!

Several posts on the subject are already open on the forum, including this one: Probleme sur les ventes - #112 par Faune

Sell items that sell. Your products are probably not in demand, or it’s not the right place, or time. (or you’re banned without knowing it, reported for example).

Occam’s Razor: the simplest solution/reason is often the best.

Same thing pro for 3 years and catastrophe since March.

Nothing works, I’ve tried everything, changing prices, increasing stock, raising listings a lot/a little, with or without Clemz, showcase dressing non-stop.

I’ve browsed forums a lot and for many, it’s from March/April that things go downhill.

Revenue is down, I don’t even think I can make a living from it anymore, as if I were completely invisible.

Courage

Yes, I’ve done a bit of investigating myself over the past few days, and apparently, more and more of us are experiencing the same problem… So, in a way, it’s reassuring, even if it doesn’t solve the problem itself  I’m even starting to consider getting another job in the fall… It depresses me!

Hello,

I’ve been a pro seller since last September.
For the past 3 weeks/one month, I’ve noticed that the visibility of my listings is in freefall.

I’ve tried everything: added hashtags, included seasonal items, used quality descriptions and photos, posted on days with the most traffic, paid for « dressings en vitrine » (showcase spotlights), checked if I’ve been banned, and even sent a message to Vinted’s support service, who couldn’t tell me why I had no visibility.

This is my source of income, and having only 3/4 orders per week is starting to weigh on my morale.

Even though I know I’m not the only one, it’s hard to stay calm.

Stay strong everyone.

Hello, I also confirm the drop in sales for the past 2-3 weeks :frowning:

Hello Bloom,
I am experiencing exactly the same phenomenon.
I have been a professional seller for 3 years (loic.lequin) and specialize in sneakers.
My business is doing very well and was growing strongly until the beginning of April.
I opt for the « dressing in showcase » option every week to boost my visibility and get stats on my views, etc., etc. I was averaging 10-12K views/day and since April, if I reach 6K, it’s already good…
I am convinced that this is not a problem with the niche or the products, as I update my showcase according to trends and seasons.
I believe it is unfortunately an action by Vinted, but I cannot get a response from them, which is a bit disheartening…

I also contacted Vinted, who replied quite succinctly that there was absolutely no problem on their end and that it was simply due to fluctuations in the algorithm (it’s scary to think that our sales depend solely on that). In other words, they couldn’t care less!

Have others had responses from Vinted?

Another possibility could be the arrival of new sellers in your segments. Do you have an idea of the competition?

There is certainly competition, but my account is well-established (7550 followers, 5 stars) and my sales/views have always been stable for 3 years until this sudden drop. I regularly check the accounts of my main competitors and it is neither a product issue nor a pricing positioning issue.

@faune - Same here, I have over 6000 subscribers and sales stopped almost overnight, so no, I don’t think it’s a competition issue. There has always been competition.

Loïc, I just did a test that puzzled me a bit. I’ll message you privately, let me know what you think!

I have just contacted about ten professional accounts specializing in my niche, and they all confirm a significant drop in revenue in recent weeks. At the same time, I just received a solicitation from Vinted to participate in a survey aimed at « understanding how professional sellers use Vinted. » I can’t believe this is a coincidence.

Crazy…

I am very far from your volumes, just 50 subscribers. My Vinted activity level is generally increasing, in terms of quantity of items sold per month:
Q4/24 = 70
Q1/25 = 100
April/May 25 = 140 (but there is the Clemz effect)

In terms of average price, however, a clear decrease.

Hello, same here, I’m on the rise. But I’ve changed a lot of things and realized that if I didn’t change anything, I would sink.

It’s multifactorial.
I’ll repeat it, but Vinted is reaching saturation, a limit of total sales. I had described the 5/6 stages of an economic activity: growth, stagnation, transformation, decline, but not only that.
It’s a market that evolves very, very quickly, but as sellers, we have inertia in strategy, in products to sell, etc., you know. The difficulty is to anticipate.

There’s really no room for everyone. Especially since, like many other sites before, Vinted has gone from selling my little things to making it a business or a source of supplementary income, and the approach will be very different. Many will equip themselves to make beautiful listings and take beautiful photos. As professionals, we used to differentiate ourselves on that, but increasingly, even those selling their own things are making beautiful listings.

This is the influencer effect: contrary to what they say, their interest is opposed to ours: they sell training courses, they also earn money through partnerships with suppliers, for equipment like softboxes, etc. This is a factor against us since it will increase competition.

Quite a few videos about buying at flea markets.

Take into account the number of new items (not ads) you have per month, or per day? And the type of product and its condition. For example, if you go from 200 to 160 per month, that’s a 20% decrease, and is the condition constant? Not necessarily for used items.

Take into account the economic and psychological contexts of each country, which have a strong impact on consumption.

For example, a one-degree difference in temperature has a considerable effect on the products consumed.

Add to this a growing awareness of the effects of excessive consumption.
Everyone’s closets are full, and after talking to people, many told me, « I’m not going to buy online anymore, I’m overdosing on so much abundance. »

Here’s a set of reasons, and there are many others; you have to integrate them and try to find products… that are functional and in tune with the times, otherwise sales will inevitably decline.

Hello Poggi,

Are you a professional seller?

I’m responding as a compulsive buyer and sporadic seller: many problems with available pickup points. They update at completely random times and sometimes I can only order early in the morning. The rest of the day all the pickup points are too far from my home, so I don’t buy, I wait.

You still need to add a shitty economic context in France (I see it because I’m progressing on foreign sales, it’s the French who are dragging me down)

And Vinted, which doesn’t make life easier with its numerous bugs and its very random visibility. Because on the contrary, eBay, which is stable, I’m progressing (even if largely insufficient to abandon Vinted)

Hello Poggi,
Thank you for your reply.
I hear and understand all of this. Although I am a professional seller, this is a secondary activity for me as I am a salesperson on a daily basis. It is obvious that no business, nor any activity, can succeed over time without continuously adapting and reviewing its strategies in relation to the daily context and market trends.
What seems more surprising to me, however, is this sudden loss of visibility. It’s going from €6,800 in revenue in March to +/- €3,400 in April with a more than 50% drop in views. I am well aware that I am not alone in my niche, but I cannot believe that in the space of a month, the increase in sellers or the market context has changed to the point of only making 50% of my revenue when I have invested the same amount in my business as the previous month. This is all the less understandable as historically April/May/June are the best months for the sneaker market.
I’ll give a very concrete example: I put very specific hashtags in each of my listings to give them more visibility. Today, when searching for my listings via hashtags from a Vinted account other than mine, I do not find my items. This is neither logical nor normal.
