Heavy parcel over 5kg: how to do it?

Hello, I have a Playmobil package that weighs between 5 to 6 kg to send, but Vinted only offers me a maximum of 2 kg.
If I choose another category, like tableware for example, will Vinted let me post the ad?
Knowing that I already had a buyer and had to cancel the transaction because the package was intended for a maximum of 2 kg…
In short, if you know of a solution to send my Playmobil package, I’m all ears, thank you

Hello,
The 2kg limit in the toys category is absurd in France! In Holland, for example, there is no weight limit for large packages in this category; they can ship several kilos without restriction (well, not 100 kilos, of course).
If you change the toy category, you can go to « Sports and Outdoor Games » and select « Other Outdoor Games. » The limit is 5 kilos minimum. The problem is that I don’t see Mondial Relay… And it’s the same for heavy categories like tableware.
See if the buyer can select this delivery service on her end.
Try it with her, and you’ll see!

Two solutions:

  1. Make two packages instead of one. So two listings, two shipping labels.

  2. I noticed that weight control was non-existent with most carriers: I often sent packages weighing, for example, 2kg with a 500g label, and it never caused a problem. For example, someone who wants to buy 10 books from me, but doesn’t want to or doesn’t know how to create a bundle: we agree on a price, and I make an offer on the listing for one of the books. This is interesting for shipping costs. I’ve never had delivery problems with Vinted Go, Shop2Shop, or Mondial Relay (however, Colissimo or La Poste would block it).

No problem sending, it happens to me with batches. I’ve already sent 10kg to Holland and it arrived without any issues. I’ve already read that Vinted arranges things directly with Mondial Relay (I don’t know how reliable that information is). Since I often send small items, no problems.

Hello
I agree somewhat with the idea proposed above… You divide your Playmobil into several listings… The buyer selects the items and creates a lot… Normally, the 5kg format option should be offered to you

It’s really making a fuss over nothing if it’s just the weight. The only thing that could be a problem are the dimensions of the box not to be exceeded.

Well, it’s not very annoying and it allows us to be on track…

Thank you for your answers! I’ll try 3 lots of playmo then.
1 lot of 3, 1 shipping voucher if I understood correctly.

Yes… You make 3 separate listings and the buyer creates the lot… so there will only be one voucher.

Okay, so that’s what I did, but I still end up at the same point, a delivery note for 2kg, I didn’t have access to change the weight… I must have messed up somewhere…

Tell me, if I cancel the transaction, will the buyer still be charged?

Normal, 2kg is the maximum weight even if you

that’s why I was saying that above, for toys in the « construction game » or « figurines » category (which corresponds to Playmobil) you always have a maximum of 2kg (I have a professional toy shop so I’m used to it) and you are within the limits since Vinted imposes it on you. After that, it’s up to them to sort it out with Mondial Relay.

Or else you have to change categories, for example for car tracks (like Hot Wheels) you can have 5kg in weight. But hey, apart from charging the buyer more, it’s not very useful.

Indeed, I sent it as is in the end.

and on top of that, imagine that your buyer is delighted to have paid €4 for shipping for 5kg of Playmobil (there must be quite a lot because they aren’t very heavy in general)

Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking too… 5kg for Playmobil… When I see that even my largest castle probably doesn’t exceed 2kg max… 5kg seems enormous.

To get back to the weight choice, you’re right, you’re within Vinted’s limits… But not within the carrier’s limits, who thinks they’re picking up a maximum of 2kg and ends up with more than double… Anyway…

It’s still strange that when you create a bundle, the package size doesn’t adjust.
When a bundle is created for clothes (already large format), the 5kg option is offered.

It’s a Playmo xxl house and everything that goes with it… complete and it quickly weighs a lot…

I want to say that’s their problem. And it works both ways, sometimes they impose 2kg on me for lots when it would go through at 500g.

I encountered the same problem with a batch of leather jackets that I had to split into two: the buyer therefore had to pay for two delivery slips, which is not normal… Vinted should increase the maximum weight to at least 5 kg, all items combined. Furthermore, previously, it was possible to make a personalized shipment regardless of the type of item, and now it is no longer possible according to what I have investigated. If it is true that we can exceed this 2 kg weight limit, then everything is resolved…

As a buyer, a short time ago I bought some rather heavy statuettes, certainly more than 5kg. I paid €2.99 for shipping. In fact, she had registered them in the picture framing category, so a large box but a small weight.
Try changing the category of your items to see if it works.
