Clemz degrades the quality of modified photos when republished

Hello, am I the only one bothered by this?

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.

Could you give us an example or tell us why you think that?

Clemz always uses photos present in the Clemz.app backup to maintain good photo quality. We also advise you to save your items when you first publish them on Vinted so that the photo quality is the original one (and not that of one or two re-publications).

Hello, I find that too. I sometimes have to replace the photos

Hello, yes Lucille, I understood how it works.

Here are the original photos, then after republication clemz (danlc logo).

Without a keen eye, I can see the difference.

Hoping that vint-aide doesn’t degrade the imported photos lol

Hello!

I’m not an expert, but personally, I don’t see any difference between the photos except for the logo

It’s important to know that Vinted does compress photos when listings are created. So, if the photo you post with the logo comes from a Vinted republication, Clemz isn’t responsible: Clemz sends a good quality photo, but it’s then compressed by Vinted.

If you send us your original photos at bonjour@clemz.app, we can take a closer look with your profile and do some tests

hello,

yes the « original » photo comes from my 2nd Vinted account, so it is already compressed by Vinted.
so you didn’t look closely enough, it’s not obvious certainly, but it’s a shame, personally I see it right away, and it’s the same for all items.

for example the Lacoste label, the classic fit is clearer on the original

I am surprised to be the only one to notice the difference

Sorry, if I see it flagged. It does the same to me. After several times, I put the original photo back.

I quite agree, it shows in your photos. However, I noticed the problem in December, but not so much recently. Perhaps there has been an improvement? At least on my end, apparently not on yours unfortunately!

Hello,

What is the format of your logo please? Is it a .png, of good quality?

Clemz does indeed perform a slight compression to speed up exchanges with the extension.
And overall, almost no users have complained about it.

On Vinted, a large portion of the photos are accessible in a maximum 800x800 format and many customers never open them in full screen (sales are often made on mobile) so I doubt the impact is significant for the clientele

Hello Clement, as far as I’m concerned, and in order to avoid a large number of disputes that I had before, photos are very important. I place the tape measure on the garment: no more disputes about measurements, no more avalanches of questions about measurements. I specify this in capital letters in my listing text. Time and security gain. If there is a defect, I take a photo of it, even if it’s very small. However, with republications, the sharpness disappears, and I start at this stage to receive messages such as: we can’t see the measurements. Which is true. Furthermore, there is a risk of being flagged for poor quality photos.

Thanks for your feedback

So you need to know that with each republication, Clemz reuses the saved photo. Therefore, there is no degradation over the course of republications: we always stay with the same photo with the same quality.
This is the full power of Clemz: the photo does not degrade with each republication!

So unless the saved photo, from the start, has a quality that prevents the measurements from being read, this should not happen.
Can you give us examples of degradation over the course of republications? So I can investigate

hello,
yes it’s a .png
dimensions 1024*1024

I think evidence is better than words. At the top, the photo republished only two or three times. More republications and the image becomes illegible. At the bottom, the original photo. I have many, many, many others. This one is the example of the day following a message from a Vintie.

Ok, I didn’t realize the issue was only with photos modified by Clemz.
Indeed, adding a logo or a frame can change the quality: I’ll look into how to improve that.

I stand by my previous explanation  If the quality is bad, it’s bad from the first repost and won’t get worse if we always use Clemz and not a competitor.

Can you give me some keywords so I can find this dress in your backup? So I can see the quality of the saved photo

I have modified a setting to try and improve the quality of the modified photos. Does this look better to you?

Could you send us the same modification photo with your « Tie » article?
We’ll see the change right away
