Banned from Vinted, sold prohibited item despite buying it from them!

Hello,

Like many lately, I’ve been banned from Vinted… a customer of theirs since 2019, profile 1300 reviews 5/5, very few disputes over all these years, both as a seller and buyer

and there you have it… I wanted to resell a Nunchaku (martial arts training, as I don’t have time to use it), which I had bought from them in 2024!!!

a quick search on their site shows many for sale

They didn’t want to hear anything, impossible to recover my account

So I contacted Signal Conso, but for the moment no response from Vinted

I keep contacting them, but nothing works

I think I will take legal action, because it’s unfair to ban someone who resells an item bought from them, allegedly prohibited, I can accept that, but then how is it that I was able to buy it and that there are some for sale on their site, without the owners being banned, it had to happen to me

I’m disgusted,

How long does Vinted usually take to respond to Signal Conso, based on your experiences? What can I do if it doesn’t work with Signal Conso?

I had asked them about the right to be forgotten, because I fully intend to return to them in 7 months, with a new bank account and all the rigmarole, but they told me no, my data would not be deleted;;;;*

In short, total incomprehension, thank you for your help

The rules have changed following last year’s Shein scandal. Anything journalists could seize upon has been removed. This also applies to the sexuality section, for example the word « kama-sutra » is no longer allowed.

Keep us informed of your legal steps.

I was also banned, a user since 2019 with over 700 reviews. I tried everything and nothing worked, I did everything except the tribunal…

thank you, … it’s not very encouraging, I just received the result from Signal Conso, and as expected, Vinted rejected my request and stands by its “suspicions” of violating their rules..

I don’t feel like dealing with this anymore, I’ll wait 6 months and we’ll see

were you able to create a new account after being banned?

Good luck

And yes, the positivity on Vinted… !!!

No, to be honest, I haven’t really tried. I’ve heard that data is deleted after 6 months (according to some people) and others who said it was false, so I don’t know what to do.

Otherwise, I admit I haven’t tried changing my internet box (too complicated), changing my IBAN, changing my phone number, changing my phone… Would taking new photos, descriptions, and sending them to relatives/friends and having them post the ads from their homes work? No idea… I’ve been researching every day since February to take action.

I’m despairing to the highest degree!

I’m telling myself that I’ll try again in 6 months and if the registration fails with my details they already have, I’ll have to use a new phone, bank account, email, etc., which is a bit inconvenient, but we’ll see

in the meantime, bye-bye Vinted, I hope a real competitor to this site is born one day because their haughty attitude is unbearable, they ban good profiles for a few clumsy mistakes and meanwhile, sellers of counterfeit goods abound on their platform, without any sanctions, which is not normal

Good luck

I don’t doubt that one day a big competitor will emerge, but I doubt that it will be more « human »… the advancement of AI is here and no matter what sites we might have, we will have less and less human relations and everything will be sanitized

Stay strong …

My son has exactly the same problem. He sent proof, but it was no use. He wrote to Signal Conso, who put him in touch with Vinted, same response. He had a large number of positive reviews. He wanted to create a new account, but it was impossible on his phone: IP banned, phone number banned. He managed to create an account via his PC with a new email but without a phone number.

how did he do it if the IP is banned? the PC doesn’t escape that either, does it? And we are forced to put a phone number…

I don’t know, it wouldn’t work on the 2 phones he was using to go on Vinted, even without entering a phone number, but it worked on his PC. It’s perhaps not the IP.

hello, it’s weird because Vinted always asks for a phone number to send verification codes?
