Banned for reselling

Hi all,

I’m sure I will get a lot of grief or not for this: I have been banned for commercial selling. Yes, I’m one of those sellers that bought 10+ items of the same item, listed and relisted and now got banned after 1,000 sales.

I was considering going Pro before it went down. Now I am not sure if I want to start all over again (no phone, new account, etc) and sign up for pro. However it looks like pro people are getting flagged too. So not sure if there is any point to it. What do you think? Or is there a work around (low number of listings, not selling the same things, etc)?

First question to guide you: are you a professional or not?

I’m technically not, but I am in the process of setting up a business as a sole proprietor in my country, Germany.

what do you mean by « flagged »? Flagged by whom and for what reason?

Same, I’m not sure I understand what you mean by « PRO version »?
Do you mean signing up as a Pro (business) on Vinted? Something else?

I mean I would like to set up a Vinted Pro account

Okay. And what would block you?
You say

But I don’t think this is the case.

I don’t know the legislation in Germany, but in France, it’s very easy to create a micro-enterprise. It has almost no fixed costs, so you can have a Vinted Pro account and a Vinted personal account.

You will then be able to get an overview of how it works and the differences between the 2 types of accounts. You’ll sell a bit on both at first to gradually switch to the Pro account. This is what many Vinted Pros in France do, especially in the phase where they are learning to manage their new business.

Pro sellers on Vinted are just as bothered as private individuals for commercial sales… I learned this the hard way on two of my accounts, I struggled and lost everything, so yes, they will bother you too as a pro… they are very tiring!

Hello, Vinted logic… I have indeed also witnessed professional accounts blocked or even banned for commercial sales. It’s incomprehensible. eBay used to charge me too much in fees, but at least sellers were pampered haha

the message saying the account was blocked for commercial sales because it is contrary to Vinted’s rules, according to their T&Cs… In short, they are completely stupid!

especially they are idiots to block good sellers because it makes them lose a colossal amount of money, because more sales from these sellers and more commissions for them… In short, at some point they will be overtaken by another and they will lose everything

Just this afternoon:

Besides, they’re talking nonsense since I had deleted ALL my listings and it’s been two months since I had to redo everything.

In the Vinted catalogue rules for professionals, it is stated that it is forbidden for professionals to sell products bought in bulk.
I know it’s stupid, but that’s what it says…

Okay, so Vinted isn’t accusing you of « commercial sales » but of « commercial sales subject to restrictions, in accordance with the catalogue rules and Vinted PRO general terms and conditions »

In addition to new items… so of course banned
