Warning: scam with the maxrdgg account on Vinted

This account (maxrdgg) sells many counterfeit cosmetic products.
My daughter was fooled into thinking she was getting a good deal by buying a Charlotte Tilbury Spray.
But the product, extremely well-made, is not compliant in its texture, smell, and spray quality.
Furthermore, the batch number (which can be checked on checkfresh) corresponds to nothing. These are likely products from Chinese resale sites.

We validated the purchase immediately because the spray was a gift for later, and once it was given, it was too late to ask for a refund.
So we left a negative review, and the seller immediately reacted by promising a full refund in exchange for deleting the negative review. To lure us in, she sent us 10 euros, promising to send the rest once the message was deleted.
And once the message was removed, she blocked us, without sending anything more, of course.

I have filed a complaint with Vinted, both for health reasons (the spray is not compliant) and because of the practices of a seller who claims to sell hundreds of products without being a professional. And who also scams people.

In short, nothing is right.

Depending on Vinted’s response, we are considering filing a complaint because, since this person sent us a transfer to refund us, we have her contact details.

Be wary.

Thank you for your warning about this Vinted seller.

Unfortunately, there are millions of Vinted accounts, so it’s unlikely a potential buyer will see your message before doing business with them…

The most effective approach is to report this person and open a dispute with Vinted so that the platform is aware to be wary of them. Even though this won’t get your money back, it will ensure their account is flagged by Vinted and blocked on their next misstep :wink:

Thank you very much for your reply.
I do not wish for any refund, I understood well that the money - especially my daughter’s, her pocket money - was lost.
But here, besides the breaches of distribution law and the health dangers, it seemed important to me to warn.
If I can prevent even one person from experiencing this misadventure, so much the better.
