Alternative Vinted?

Hello friends.

My turn, pro account blocked after 500,000 silly blocks.

I’m really fed up with Vinted, the problem is that I have €80,000 worth of stock at home and that’s a lot for the resale.

Which platform are you moving to? There must be some who are elsewhere than on Vinted, I see eBay but it’s complicated for low-ticket items.

There are many of us waiting for something else, there are no alternatives at the moment. Maybe Depop? Etsy? LBC?

Ebay for low ticket items isn’t sustainable as you said.

Beebs, but it depends on the merchandise!

Hello, :hugs:

I’m in the same situation, with a lot of stock and completely desperate about the ineffectiveness of Vinted support. I manage to sell from time to time on Leboncoin but it’s absolutely not enough.

I tried Etsy but only received scam messages, not to mention that you have to pay to list each item and after a certain time you have to pay again to keep it online…

Do you have any other ideas?

Thank you in advance :hugs:

It depends on the status you have. To do volume at a low price, it’s better to be a company than a sole proprietorship, but hey, I’d say that’s for everything (sole proprietorship is really not made for low margins). On the other hand, it seems to me that Etsy is not cheap in terms of commission. I don’t know Depop, but it was just bought by eBay.

Edit: I just checked, Depop is 10% like eBay.

Etsy is 6.5% but there are listing fees and payment fees. So it can quickly add up.

yes. and other fees sometimes, like a shop subscription, and so on.

How much would you be willing to pay on Vinted (and in what way) to have a safe site for professionals?

I have no idea, it would depend on the turnover generated by being able to work « properly ». Shops on marketplaces often revolve around 50 bucks so if there’s traffic and tools to work with it doesn’t seem unreasonable, but if it’s only 20, I’ll take it

Unfortunately, at the moment I don’t see such a « balanced » and simple platform, when I say balanced, I mean paradoxically, of course. But one day a competitor will come along, and in any case, Vinted is destroying itself anyway!

What do you mean by “simple”?

Beebs or LBC offer pretty much the same thing. And eBay, admittedly, is more complicated to get started with, but ultimately simpler once you understand how it works (in fact, it’s mainly about pre-configuring everything so that there’s not much left to do afterwards).

And all of Vinted’s problems (bugs, blocks, listing deletions, etc.) really don’t make my task any easier.

lbc is only for France unfortunately in Belgium we can’t take advantage of it

So obviously, it all depends on the items that everyone sells. Some platforms are specific to certain items

Leboncoin - France

Opla (new) - France

Beebs - France Belgium

Depop - International

eBay - International

Vestiaire Collective / Catawiki (luxury items) - International

Etsy - International

Selency - International

Then there are other apps for doing live streams

(I also saw « Birki » mentioned, but that’s brand new, whereas Opla was already a site that sold second-hand items and has just opened a section for peer-to-peer sales)

Since we don’t have access to Bol :face_savoring_food:

Indeed, it’s a shame, but hey, I’m losing more and more faith in LBC. As far as I’m concerned, sales there have plummeted to a point where I’m not making much of an effort anymore. And given the upcoming policy changes (even if I didn’t fully understand them), I find it hard to see a future for them; it strongly resembles what’s called ‹ doing a Rakuten ›. So, consider that you’re certainly not missing out on much (and in my sector, almost all sellers are also on Vinted).

Hi!

I’ve thrown in the towel regarding Vinted. Too many bans that require too much energy to recreate accounts, be able to repost, etc…

So I’ve refocused on Vestiaire Collective. And I’m going to start using eBay. I sold a shirt there to the USA! Except I had forgotten about it; it was actually a test item. So I had already sold it.

It’s a bit complicated to set your own shipping costs. But it’s promising. On Vinted, there are many likes, many lower offers, but the final sale prices are lower.

On Vestiaire, it’s sometimes slow, but the sales happen at higher prices. And I get the impression eBay is similar.

I’ve also chosen to move towards products better suited for these platforms.

I advise you to leave simplified mode and activate the Seller Hub. From there, you can preconfigure absolutely everything, like setting a price for each country (even outside Europe). It’s tedious at first, but then it’s super easy. When you create your listing, you just have to choose from a dropdown menu the shipping costs you want to set, you can have ready-made descriptions etc. …

Is this for professionals or for individuals too? And can we have weight presets?

I don’t put much on eBay (especially since I sell all sorts of things, I don’t have a specific niche that works on eBay) but it’s true that every time I have to make listings, shipping costs are a bit of a headache

Some of my figures. Since January 1, 2026, Vinted accounts for 67% of my turnover.

LBC = 25%, and therefore cannot be overlooked. While the flow had dried up at the end of 2025, there has been a return of in-person sales (8% of the 25%), which shows a sub-segment that would simply not exist outside the platform.

Of the 67% from Vinted, 17% are international sales, which also would not exist outside the platform.

In other words, I think Vinted and LBC, each in their own niche, allow me to reach approximately 8 + 17 = 25% of buyers to whom I would not have access otherwise. Probably the remaining 75% could have used both platforms, as some sales on LBC of items I recently relisted on Vinted suggest (=
> someone saw the ad on Vinted, did a search, and finally bought it on LBC).

Perhaps there is also such a segment that only eBay makes accessible, for example, sales outside the EU, but my first attempts last year were too disappointing for me to try again immediately.

Professionals and individuals. I don’t know about weight since I set everything to free shipping, so I factor it in directly into my price.

Thanks for your help! But if you sell to the USA, you have to add €30, and less for Europe. How do you include these variable costs in your price?

So I have a price for free shipping in France, but I created a shipping cost table to add the international surcharge. However, for now, I’ve limited it to Europe to keep it simple. The advantage of doing it this way is that eBay appreciates it, so it counts towards getting the Top Reliability badge (but that’s only for professionals), and it also gives foreign buyers the illusion that shipping costs are low. For example, for Italians, it shows €1.50 shipping costs.

Basically, I have the countries served by Mondial Relay where I add the difference, and for the others, I put €20 for Colissimo International. This morning, for example, I made a sale in Sweden.

I sell clothes and shoes professionally.
I’m currently on Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, Le Bon Coin, and Joli Closet, knowing that my sales on the latter two are really anecdotal.

I used to do eBay, but it wasn’t worth it. I’m wondering about the opportunity to try it again, there are already fixed fees, and it’s cumbersome to set up, so if it’s only for 1 sale every two months… I have the impression that eBay doesn’t work that well for fashion anymore, am I wrong?
