Hello, I made a sale of 8 items. The buyer didn’t like the items… however, they only returned 4 out of 8 items to me.
Upon receiving my package, it was very light. I therefore filmed the opening of the package and my fears were confirmed. I received 4 items out of 8 for a sum of €114.
So, I reported it, of course. It’s been 1 month now! Obviously, this person says that I am the liar.
Moreover, I’m not the only one! This person only has 17 reviews and I have proof that they did the same thing to someone else (I have obviously passed the information on to Vinted).
This morning I received a message from Vinted saying that my item is supposedly a counterfeit (which it is not, and that’s not even the issue because this is theft, I am missing my 4 items).
So, how could I send my video? It’s as if they are mocking honest sellers! I don’t even know if they read my messages telling them that I’m not the only one…
If the dispute is closed in their favor, I will leave this platform! I’m not here to be robbed by dishonest people.
You should try contacting them by email because on the app it’s automatic responses (and often way off the mark, by the way). Have you tried? Here is the address legal@vinted.fr
Hello, for future reference, I advise you to take photos of your package before it is sent to show its contents, as well as photos once the package is finished to show how it is packed and its volume.
If you have a return, take photos before opening, or even a complete video, so that in case of a dispute, you are armed against the Vinted bandits.
Don’t let the darkness consume you, Christophe
This is exactly what I did (I always take photos before and delete them once the sale is complete).
As explained previously, the package seemed very light to me compared to the shipment. So I took photos and a complete video during the opening. I sent the photos to Vinted. Unfortunately, the video is much too large, so it’s impossible to send it by email.
The craziest thing in this story is that this person « fahedda » (I’m quoting, I don’t know if we’re allowed to, but I don’t care, she needs to be reported) only has 17 reviews and has already done this to another member! I contacted this person and it’s exactly the same situation as mine… so I also sent my conversation to Vinted to show them that I’m not the only victim!
And then Vinted tells me things like counterfeit items… first of all, that’s false, and it’s not even the point. It’s that this person is clearly a thief! She orders bundles, keeps the most interesting, most expensive items, and returns half of the order… it’s too easy in that case. If everyone did the same…
I’ll keep you updated, but I don’t understand Vinted siding with thieves! Personally, if this person « fahedda » wins her case, I will leave Vinted.
I sense irony in your message. I am only explaining my situation. Believe me, this is the truth, I just want to resolve this problem. I have other things to do than justify myself every day to the Vinted service and look for solutions to resolve this dispute (for example, I didn’t know about this site, I only discovered it yesterday to find help).
And to answer Fauna and Goodjob2A, I think he kept what really interests him.
He returned cheap brands to me (Nike) but obviously kept the Philipp Plein for himself or to resell…
Yes, he’s a thief. But I don’t understand why Vinted doesn’t look at his profile more closely. That is to say, disputes with another seller (2 with me and maybe more). He may have also listed the items on Vinted and then sold them… (I did say maybe, but if that’s the case they can see it)
Vinted? They facilitate relationships between individuals, based on trust, that’s all. They are not responsible for transactions, like all platforms. If there’s a scam, you need to file a complaint, but:
You can’t do much, it’s word against word, and you can’t prove anything. A photo can be easily faked. Even videos of accidents have no legal value.
Let’s say you try your luck: A court? It takes years for €10, €50, €100, €200, which is a day’s work for no guaranteed result; is it worth it? It’s up to you.
The paradise of scammers, who remain VERY much in the minority. You have to live with it.
What I meant by that is that they can (I think) see what is happening with the different transactions and the different sellers, right?
I’ll take my case again. Only 17 reviews and already 1 confirmed scam plus me. So that will make 2!
They must surely realize that there is a problem with him, right? And the buyer protection fees are only if the package is lost during transport?
And yes, as you say, fortunately it’s VERY little, but here it’s still €114. If it had been €10, I would have let it go, but here it’s a certain sum for me. I don’t think anyone would want to lose that amount…
@anon90966608 : the platform is based on trust, so… it has an interest in banning overly unscrupulous buyers/sellers. If the latter multiply, trust disappears, and so does the platform
Thank you to those who very kindly responded to me.
My dispute was closed last night… I was refunded €55 (new product with tag). I still lost quite a bit, but I consider myself lucky to have received this amount.
If I can give one piece of advice, do not buy from or sell to fahedda. You will regret it! What I find unfortunate is that this person still has their account active and that I cannot leave a review. It’s a real shame because I sincerely believe they will continue!
Have a good day and thank you again for your help.
There are ideas, theory, and the principle of reality. And between the two, there is always a more or less large gap.
100% does not exist; even when you go to have cataract surgery, you can lose your sight.
Wanting to achieve 100% will harm the % that works.
This is observed everywhere, and it causes many problems: for companies, for an individual’s daily life, for a child’s education, for everything. It is a fundamental principle that is, it is true, counter-intuitive. Sociological, economic, and psychological studies all point in the same direction. (I know, currently, we are going in the opposite direction)
There is one country where this can be observed more than elsewhere, and that is the US.
To conclude: the most difficult thing is to find the balance or the margin of error that seems acceptable for the overall functioning of a company, a country, an individual.
There is another cognitive bias at play: man only remembers mistakes, what doesn’t work. Einstein and his recitation of a multiplication table in front of his students is the best illustration of this
We live in an upside-down world where thieves are treated well. Don’t make any more purchases in the future. I had received a jacket, and realized it was stained. The seller called me a liar and kept her money. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in
I had quite a few problems with electronics, because it’s easy to say that what you receive doesn’t work. Video games, coffee machines, consoles, phones, and to send back a similar broken item, board games too because it’s often retorted that a card or a piece is missing.
Beware of very nice, cordial, overly polite people.
Listen to your intuition :), Check reviews, the profile, ask an innocuous question that can sometimes elicit an unexpected reaction.
When I don’t feel right about it, I close the discussion. Too bad for the sale.
Good luck to you Christophe, and welcome to the forum.
