Hello everyone,
I’m coming here because I’m in a really unfair situation with Vinted and I don’t know what to do anymore.
I sold an item that I carefully packaged (bubble wrap, sturdy cardboard, well sealed).
But upon delivery, the buyer told me that the package had arrived in a simple soft envelope, completely different from my original packaging — so the carrier clearly changed the package or damaged it during transit.
The buyer herself acknowledged that the item had been damaged by the carrier. Despite this, Vinted canceled the transaction, refunded the buyer, and refuses to pay me, saying that « my packaging was not sufficient. »
I insisted several times, provided explanations, and even cited their own terms and conditions (which provide for compensation when damage occurs during transport via a Vinted label), but they maintain their decision, saying it is « final. »
I find this scandalous, because I followed the rules, I have proof and messages from the buyer, and yet I am being held responsible for a problem caused by the carrier.
Has anyone here ever had a similar case?
Is there a way to have the case re-examined or to contact a higher department / mediator at Vinted?
Is it worth going through the consumer mediator or the DGCCRF?
Thanks in advance for your feedback or advice, because frankly, I feel completely stuck and it’s extremely frustrating.
