Vinted Pro: Bug during registration (postal code refused) 🇧🇪

Hello everyone :waving_hand:
I hope you are doing well :slightly_smiling_face:

I need to switch to a professional account, but when creating the account, Vinted does not recognize the postal code of my company, even though it is well registered with the BCE (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises).
I have tried all possible combinations of the address (street + number, number + street, etc.), but nothing works: I always get the same error message displayed :face_with_steam_from_nose:

If anyone has already had the same problem and can help me, that would be GREAT :folded_hands:

I have sent a message to Vinted, but given their response time… I have time to wait
!
I am attaching a screenshot of the error message (I am from Belgium)

It has not been possible to upgrade to Pro in Belgium since October 2024. Hundreds of us are in this situation. After countless contacts with support, they « are aware of the problem and are doing everything possible to resolve it as quickly as possible. »

A useless response from Vinted, as usual.

We just have to be patient. 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, nobody knows.

What’s going on!!! So I have to stay on a basic account and not post new articles anymore once I get the Vinted message telling me to go pro, or I’ll be banned.

If we want to stay on the Belgian platform, we unfortunately have no other option. I received the message requesting to switch to a professional account last November, I took all the steps to regularize my situation, and now I find myself paying my social contributions without the possibility of becoming a professional seller on Vinted.

It was only after seeing the error messages in the professional account application form that I did my research and came across dozens of posts from people having the same problem…

So yes, I’m continuing with a personal account, risking being banned daily for commercial use of the platform, with nearly 1000 items and 100+ reposts per day… (Which, by the way, is completely illegal on Vinted’s part, as it allows us to bypass European regulations on the right of withdrawal, but that’s fundamentally not our problem)

The most viable option currently is to rent a commercial address in France to register as a micro-enterprise and obtain a French business number to convert one’s account into a French professional account, with all the hassle that entails.

Phew, I finally found someone who explains the problem!
I also opened a BCE and VAT number on 05/01/25, and they « can’t find my company number ». I’ve contacted them several times, but none of them had an answer for me… So like you, we can’t do anything but wait and do it « privately »…
It’s strange because in their « User Guide for Pro Sellers », they mention that Belgian sellers can create an account.
It’s really not serious for people who are opening a business to resell exclusively on the platform. At least I don’t feel so alone…

Hello I remember about 2 months ago I signed up for Vinted, specifically, even though I am a professional in the markets and sell clothes from thrift stores, nice things, I started on Vinted 2 months ago. They immediately sent me a message saying that in Belgium there were no problems professionally, etc., etc., and that it was a protected country. I have over 400 items and €5,000 in sales in 2 months, and I have a lot of hope. I hope to be able to list thousands of items without them blocking me or asking me to go professional, since in any case, we can’t do that in Belgium, even though I have a Belgian VAT number. But I’m not interested in that, I prefer to stay like this. Thank you for listening.

Hello everyone:waving_hand:, thank you for your answers and shares.:heart_hands:

Small update from my side: I contacted Vinted support and according to them, the bug is related to the fact that I still have ongoing sales (unfinished transactions).
However, I clearly specified that I had no error messages indicating this, but they still told me that’s what it was, and that I had to wait for all sales to be finalized (purchases don’t count).

I’ve been in vacation mode for almost two weeks, and I still have 3 orders pending finalization. I’ll come back here to tell you if that was really the issue… even though frankly, I have big doubts.

See you soon!

This is an irrelevant automated response. Having ongoing sales is indeed a factor that blocks the transition to a pro account, but it’s an error that occurs « after » the initial validation of your information.

I have already received this response from support. After insisting that this was not the problem, they finally told me they had a technical issue.

I have already tried to transition to a pro account with no ongoing sales, and the problem remained the same.

We will soon celebrate the first anniversary of this bug, which dates back to October 2024

Small update, my business number is now :heart_decoration:

And so, were you able to go pro?

I always get automatic responses and no progress on the issues.

I had some address difficulties. I had to take my BCE extract and encode it character by character as it was encoded by the UCM for it to work

So you managed to go pro, is that it?
What do you mean by to the letter?

Hello everyone,

Still no progress on my end… I’m even borderline getting yelled at when I follow up, and now they’re not responding to me at all. I’m losing hope

I tweeted tagging Vinted France, you never know — I have nothing left to lose.

If you want to give it some visibility, here’s the link:

I’ll keep you posted, bye

Following Lucille’s recommendation, I am copying you my message regarding this situation with Vinted Pro

Hello everyone,

I’m taking advantage of my recent registration here to share a frustrating experience (and a bit of my « rant ») concerning Vinted Pro in Belgium.

My partner and I have launched a company specializing in the sale of second-hand clothing. Vinted is not our main channel, but we were seriously considering integrating it into our development strategy.

Problem: it is simply impossible to create a professional account in Belgium.
For several months, we have made multiple attempts and exchanges with technical support, without success. The answers are vague, even absurd: « We are facing a problem, » with no further details or deadlines. Nothing is progressing.

Meanwhile, Vinted continues to communicate by stating that it is possible to become a professional seller in Belgium, which seems to be in total contradiction with reality. This increasingly resembles a form of misleading advertising.

We feel that Belgian professionals are completely ignored, which is regrettable for a tool with so much potential.

My questions:
Has anyone here managed to open a professional account in Belgium recently?

Is there any collective action, legal or media initiative underway to get things moving?

Would it be possible to ask Vinted to display a clear message about the current impossibility of creating a professional account in Belgium, to avoid wasting time?

Thank you in advance for your feedback, advice, or testimonials.

I would also be curious to know

It’s been 2 months that they’ve been stringing me along and now they don’t even answer me anymore, courage :flexed_biceps:

Hello everyone,

We have sent a registered letter to the headquarters in Belgium as well as to the headquarters in Lithuania, outlining the abnormal situation.

We will see the feedback…

Great initiative, keep us updated

Hello everyone,

Being in the same situation, I am contacting you. I have also opened a BCE/VAT number/… other steps to open my professional account…

If anyone has a solution, or if anyone has organized a « complaint » against Vinted to try to get things moving, I would be curious.

Thank you in advance

Hello, unfortunately, I don’t have a solution and apart from the previous message, I don’t know of any other initiative.

However, with their update of the Terms and Conditions, I saw several links to address complaints or disputes, but I haven’t looked into it yet. I’ll keep you posted

Ah, thank you… I read the general terms and conditions, but it doesn’t provide any more information… I don’t understand why they make it so complicated by ignoring the request…

In the meantime, we’re stuck doing things, paying for nothing… :grimacing:
