Hello everyone!
Several of you have encountered an issue: Since Wednesday, May 6th, Vinted has modified the settings of its ad verification robots, and they are now detecting numerous « closet duplicates » which are often not duplicates at all.
Affected users are reposting ads and immediately receiving a message from Vinted announcing the removal of their new listings. The message is as follows:
Text: Some of your listings have been identified as duplicates, which goes against our catalog rules. Therefore, we have removed one or more of your listings.
What we know at this stage:
- This issue is very similar to one that occurred last March (forum post: Campagne "anti-doublon" de Vinted - état des lieux (19.03.2026))
- For now, no one has been restricted for these duplicates. It should be noted that no one has ever been banned for duplicates, but last March, Vinted restricted (= impossible to post a new ad) some users for 3 to 7 days.
- 99% of these are false duplicates incorrectly identified by Vinted, as the created ad is indeed unique… Notably with Clemz: the app first deletes the ad before publishing a new one, so it’s impossible to create a duplicate « by mistake »
- These duplicate messages only affect a minority of Clemz app users
- Based on experience, Vinted detects duplicates by comparing photos. It remains to be understood why some users are affected and others are not.
What remains to be understood:
- Why are some items identified and not others? We believe that « uniform » backgrounds (a single color, like a plain rug or wall) or « common » backgrounds (any parquet flooring or a wall without a particular pattern) increase the chances of being wrongly identified.
- Is a closet identified for false duplicates more likely to be targeted later? It seems so, but this needs to be confirmed. This would explain waves of duplicates affecting only certain closets and not others.
- Could the speed at which Clemz republishes explain the duplicate detections? For us, this is unlikely, as the majority of users have no issues. However, we propose a test:
- Ensure your listings are saved on Clemz.
- Delete the ones you want to republish.
- Wait, say, an hour.
- Then re-import the listings from Clemz to Vinted to see if the waiting time was enough for Vinted to « forget » the listing.
What we advise you to do:
- First of all, don’t panic! Indeed, the risk of being banned is zero, and for now, Vinted has not sanctioned anyone with a restriction

- Dispute the deletion with Vinted. Based on experience, if they receive a very high volume of complaints, they will be forced to recalibrate their robots to stop identifying false duplicates.
- If your items have been deleted, try re-importing them with Clemz. This article explains how to recover them from your backup: https://www.clemz.app/documentation/sauver-mes-annonces#import-clemz-vinted. Several people confirm that this has worked for them.
- To continue reposting safely, significantly modify your photos and space out your reposts by at least 30 seconds. Since identification is done by comparing photos, if your photos are VERY different, they will be less likely to be identified. This article details how to properly modify your photos with Clemz (https://www.clemz.app/documentation/modifier-les-photos#avoid-detection). I advise using a frame or a sticker (your logo), taking care to change it each time.
- As a reminder, we suspect that photos with light, uniform, or « common » backgrounds (a rug, parquet flooring, a wall without any original pattern or distinguishing object) are potentially more likely to be identified.
Keep telling us whether the problem affects you or not!
This keeps the community updated on the situation, and it’s how we learned that in early April, Vinted had ended up recalibrating its robot to stop detecting these false duplicates.
