Fake « Vinted Support » Asking to Verify My Bank Card
Hello everyone,
I received this message after republishing only 4 items via Clemz (Pro Account - Anti-bot protection: natural rhythm personalized to 124 sec). This message impersonates Vinted support (URL underlined in red on my screenshot at the bottom of the page) hosted on a domain that is not official at all, which I am attaching in case you need it → « vinted.check-your-access.cfd ».
A chat that mimics the Vinted interface appears and pushes you to « verify your bank card » via an external link, under the pretext of new security policies.
Is this really related to the republications or just a coincidence?!
Excerpt from the message received:
Greetings. Verify your bank card today! To continue, go to the next page to verify your bank card.
I’m posting this here so that those who see a similar message are warned before clicking.
Speaking of republications, bans, and alternatives, I just came across sadvintedfaces.com thanks to the comment by @Hypathie in the thread dedicated to the ban and restriction campaign..
It’s a very comprehensive UK campaign (5000+ testimonials, 3400+ banned accounts listed), which centralizes:
a log of evidence
numerous templates for appeal letters to copy and paste (Trading Standards, Financial Ombudsman)
a follow-up of complaints filed with regulators (CMA, ICO)
Really particularly complete, documented, and precise.
Thank you for the alert!
We don’t think this has anything to do with the republications.
You should nevertheless inform Vinted of this scam so that support is aware (without mentioning Clemz, but explaining the situation regarding the rest.)
Thanks @see.bcorner
This will help a lot not to fall into the trap
However, in my opinion, this has nothing to do with the possible use of any extension.
It is therefore not « following » a republication, but simply the use of Vinted.
