Sales temperature

To my surprise, they even compensated me for a package declared as empty by the buyer last week. Could they have been nudged?

Otherwise, February is really not good. So much so that I wasn’t doing anything, the second week I went on an improvised vacation and put everything on pause.

On my end, February’s activity is good. In February 2025, I was banned for a week, so the benchmark is very low, but since sales are +50%, it’s beyond the ban effect.

Compared to January 2026, which was the best month I had ever had, I should be at -30%/day (daily adjustment needed because February is 10% shorter than January  ).

Personally, after several weeks of following republication advice proposed by ChatGPT, I have never sold so little during this period.

Same here, it’s very very very quiet.

Hello,

I am a private seller and personally, this month of February is (on my scale) really excellent, with a small dip in the middle of the month. I think there is also the fact that the hypothesis that Vinted puts « private individuals more in the spotlight » is probably true as it has already been said and observed several times on the forum and plays to the disadvantage of professional accounts.

Best regards to you all,

Bayou.

A rather quiet week. February remains decent, but down compared to last year and below my forecasts.

On my end, I have voluntarily limited reposts to 25-30 per day. I wouldn’t be surprised if mechanisms have been put in place to slow down accounts that seek to artificially maximize their visibility, in order to rebalance exposure between sellers. Platforms are perfectly aware of the techniques used to impose themselves, especially those inspired by social media strategies.

That said, the problem doesn’t necessarily come solely from Vinted. The aggressive methods used by some sellers also contribute to saturating overall visibility. It’s obvious that those who multiply actions end up making others less visible.

We are also observing a generalization of automation: I now receive many automatic messages as soon as I favorite an item. In the long run, if everyone applies the same processes, it becomes counterproductive.

In summary, we cannot attribute the situation solely to the platform: sellers’ practices also play an important role.

I am implementing new strategies and other levers to optimize my visibility. In my opinion, everyone should develop their own method, adapted to their positioning and pace.

I am speaking as a professional. Individuals are not supposed to do business (regular buying and reselling) without a status and without declaration.

It all depends on what you have put online. Compared to professionals, your status is different, you don’t have objectives to achieve. If you posted 100 items in a week, instead of 10 the week before (for example) that you want to get rid of by selling them off cheaply, that cannot really serve as a reference. On my end, I try to follow a rhythm and a strategy that stabilizes and increases income compared to last year. Calculating the average basket and additions compared to last year at the same period, etc., etc. …

It’s awfully quiet, even here :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

A small back-to-school effect, probably?

Hello!

For my part, I’m a bit shocked by this start to March. I republished a bit late in my opinion, but I feel like it’s similar to September, almost! I sold a lot of items, I feel like I’m very, very visible. With each republication (about 50 per day for 5 days), I only use view exchange and favorite exchange.

Maybe I was lucky, I don’t know, but I’m spending time making packages…

I don’t know, I’m still publishing as many articles. But no sales except 1 on eBay in 2 days. It’s very worrying. It’s a thermal shock compared to the last few weeks. Difficult to judge over a few days.

From my side, February 2026: +80% vs. February 2025 (but I was banned for a week)

The month of March is starting slowly, with sales down 10% vs. the 2025 average. But nothing catastrophic either.

February I did the same, more or less. +88% compared to last year.

I receive about twenty offers a day, which I accept, but people don’t end up buying… I don’t understand anything about it!

Can you describe the level of the offers: are they very aggressive?

-40% as always, and I accept anyway since it’s the end of the season and I need to move inventory…
The worst are those who beg you to accept the -40% and when you do, they stop responding or make an even lower second offer! I block those ones directly because they have a habit of coming back very often to waste your time and never buy.

Yes, it’s exactly like WinRAR. But I don’t accept it. Too many bad habits if we accept. Except for an item you really want to get rid of. Some take advantage of very slow periods to make these offers and wait until the beginning of the month to buy. They know that some will accept more easily at the end of the month.

In any case, since yesterday people have received their pay. Restart in progress…

It depends on the sectors: in Tech, where I was for more than 10 years, my salary arrived between the 25th and the 28th
