Subject to publish: Unfair sanction: I am the victim of insults and threats, but I am the one suspended
Hello everyone,
I’m posting here because I’m at my wit’s end. I have been suspended from Vinted for 14 days even though I am the victim of an extremely insulting, threatening, and disrespectful user.
A user named gabin70806 sent me shocking messages, which I of course reported, in which they:
Insulted me with sexist, violent, and vulgar language,
Directly threatened me, by suggesting we exchange personal addresses via Discord,
Belittled me by calling me poor, with no future, even going so far as to say I would end up homeless…
And despite all this, my account was banned! I never responded with insults, I remained polite, and today I am losing sales, customers, and an activity that helps me enormously financially. I have at least €500 worth of sales to make, packages to send, and I really need Vinted right now.
I am disgusted and do not understand this decision.
I am attaching the screenshots I used in my claim to support so that it is clear: I am the victim, not the culprit.
If anyone has experienced the same thing or can help me speed up my unblocking request, I’m all ears.
I just want to be able to resume my sales peacefully and for the real culprit to be sanctioned.
Perhaps this has already been done, but contact them via legal@vinted
If you only used the app’s help center, that is only managed by bots. So if the bot, with its algorithm, considered that you were in the wrong, it will loop on the same decision.
Hello!
He probably reported your Vinted closet and/or asked others to do so, which led to this ban.
As Gametoysretro says, send an email to legal@vinted.fr to get a less robotic response and try to insist by email.
True, but the Vinted bot is sometimes (often) very stupid, but really stupid, it doesn’t pretend. With the legal Vinted address, you have a better chance of reaching someone who will really look into the situation.
I have read your screenshots. I, as a human being, understand that what he is doing is not right and should not be tolerated. That is clear.
On the other hand, this individual did not use any forbidden or insulting words as such. That is most certainly why the bot did not flag anything. « I’m going to say hello to you, » out of context, is not threatening. It’s all in the subtext, which is beyond the scope of a bot, especially Vinted’s.
That is why everyone advises you to go through legal@vinted.fr. There, a person will read your story, your exchanges, and will be able to check the flow of suspicious and unjustified reports against you following this.
“PUTE” is an insult, isn’t it? And asking for personal information (address) is forbidden. That should be enough to characterize the insult, threat, and the magic word to use is HARASSMENT or CYBER HARASSMENT.
You can report cyberbullying on the Pharos platform. As for Vinted, I think they made a mistake and reversed the sanction. Perhaps you should rephrase by starting from the beginning and stating that you are filing a complaint against such a person for such remarks for cyberbullying, threats, insults. dates, times, screenshots. Above all, do not confuse them by saying it wasn’t me, it was him. Otherwise, you’ll be back to square one in a ridiculous situation. Finally, depending on their response, you can ask them on what basis they imposed their sanction.
