Repost without modification on your photos or not?

Good evening everyone!

For a little over a month now, we’ve observed a significant change when republishing on Vinted: Modifying your photos is no longer mandatory!

You can republish your items « as is. »
To republish without modifying your photos: select « on the fly » and do not enter any modification parameters.
Ignore Clemz’s alert about identifying your photo and… let Clemz do their job. :recycling_symbol:

You will find a more detailed tutorial here :right_arrow: 📸 Modifier les photos - Clemz

Feel free to ask your questions :down_arrow:

Yes, I tested it from your first message and it works.

It looks cleaner and leads to more sales (maybe a coincidence)

you’re not the only one saying it

Since the announcements via Clemz, I’ve been republishing without modifications and I find it cooler. I had the impression that articles republished with frames were a bit more « ignored » and got fewer views. I tried to make the modifications as discreet as possible.

I hope this lasts and that Vinted takes its time to wake up!

So no need to make small modifications or even rotate a few degrees?

no longer needed for now

that’s cool, I’ll finally have straight photos

Good evening,
as far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t work without modification. Vinted deletes my ads if I don’t modify them.

Thanks @Jojolapin57 for this information!

On second thought, I think there might be more to it than meets the eye: it’s surprising that photo modifications are no longer mandatory, especially since Vinted has always fought against reposts.

A plausible (though slightly paranoid) scenario: perhaps Vinted is letting people repost without consequences, and then will « note » in its database who does it in order to penalize them later (less visibility)?

I wonder if all of this isn’t too good to be true…

In any case, I will advise you, ultimately and contrary to our previous position  , to be wary and limit the number of reposts without modifications!

Actually, he republished it for me but at the same time sent me a message saying the article was deleted. So I’d rather republish it with modifications.

I imagine that for listings older than 6 months, photo edits are pointless?

For more recent listings, we’ll see how it goes. It would be nice because frames or rotation do reduce appeal, that’s true

This might not be the right place for this question, but I’m wondering about the usefulness of sending and therefore receiving favorites. Is there positive feedback? Difficult to assess, isn’t it?

Thanks

On all articles or just one?

On 3 it happened to me once then I republished with modification. Sales did not decrease with the frames.

Hello,
Regarding the second topic about sending favorites, it is indeed better to create a new post

Hello hello!

I was having a similar thought to @Clement, it seems a bit « too easy » to be able to republish without modification. Yet, it has been possible to do so for some time without any problems.

How can we know if there are any sanctions regarding our visibility? Is there a way to get statistics that could highlight this?

I haven’t noticed anything on my end for the moment, I’m still using boosts, maybe that helps not to be noticed too much…

Have a great weekend everyone! happy selling!

Good evening Sev!

Can you look at the impressions from the smart dressing? It’s the only metric Vinted gives us on visibility… otherwise, your number of sales is an indicator in itself.

If you continue to sell… enjoy it :hugs: Happy selling!

Yes, getting ShadowBanned is plausible…

At the same time, it’s possible without issues on all other platforms, so maybe they’ve just gotten used to it. Especially since right now doesn’t seem to be a very good time on Vinted in terms of sales (at least that’s what many comments suggest), so they might loosen up a bit (never seen a platform so annoying with its sellers)

Perhaps Vinted realized that reposting allows an item to sell better, thus bringing them money and, above all, freeing up space on their servers. In fact, items for sale for ages must still cost them quite a bit of money in terms of server storage, right?
Especially since they have reduced the number of searchable items per search. On computer, before, we could consult 32 pages, now it’s only 10. Some very common items no longer appear just a few hours after being posted.
