First scam on Vinted... I'm really annoyed

Hello to all the community, sorry for not having had time to introduce myself, I’m posting here after many unsuccessful attempts with Vinted.

So here’s the thing, I’ve been selling and buying on Vinted for years and until now I’ve only had minor unpleasant surprises.

Today it’s costing me €60 and I’m really fed up. To cut a long story short, I bought a pair of shoes advertised as new with photos to support it, showing them indeed in near-new condition. I received the package and then the total surprise. The soles are coming unglued everywhere. Following this, my exchanges with the seller became a little less cordial, as you will understand. In short, the seller denies everything outright and naturally accuses me of wanting to pass off my old pair of shoes. The nerve!

And that’s where the real problem starts because, having never had a problem before, I’m completely taken aback. Be aware that VINTED’S CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST.

Today, after about ten days (I assure you, I haven’t just been doing this), struggling to get a reliable contact, I still haven’t succeeded. Oh, obviously, if you have any leads, I’m all ears, but frankly, allow me to doubt it right now. Furthermore, and by the way, I can’t help but think that Vinted scams us all with every sale by asking for this guarantee percentage. Oh yes, I’m really annoyed about that! Somewhere, I tell myself not to see the glass as half empty and that I don’t live in a fantasy world. That said, I still took the time to skim through the posts on this forum before posting and I notice that other Vinted users are in the same boat as me.

My question is very simple: are there any legal actions being taken against Vinted to put an end to the feeling of inaccessibility and loneliness that users experience when dealing with disputes?

Thank you for reading me to the end.

Hello,
Welcome to the forum and sincerely sorry for this mishap. Have you opened a dispute on Vinted directly within the transaction with the seller?

Good evening Lucile,

Yes, yes, of course, all of that was done in a timely manner.

Alas, I no longer have much hope of winning my case with either the seller or Vinted. My approach here is more informative, to make the entire community aware that the other side of the coin is far from brilliant. Also, I am not the type to bury my head in the sand. The shoes I bought are safety shoes; this is to say that I have many other things to do than to burden my mind with a procedure. However, I will be available to assist you if a collective legal action were to be initiated.

Thank you for your response

Hello - I completely believe you because the same thing almost happened to me. I had safety shoes at home that my husband bought for a safety week at his company, so they were only worn for a week. When I decided to sell them as being almost new, I bent the sole and to my surprise, the sole cracked in various places, so to my great regret, they went in the trash.

I also bought sandals and after wearing them once, they completely disintegrated at the sole, and yet they were a brand name. It seems that some soles cannot withstand being left unused for too long. In my case, the seller was great and honest, and I was refunded.

Unfortunately, in your case, if your seller doesn’t admit anything, you won’t be able to do anything.

PS: Since then, if I buy shoes, I ask the seller to twist them in all directions to test them.

Thank you for your response,

Well no, no contact possible with any physical or virtual person able to answer my problem. It’s been over 15 days now that I’ve been going in circles. But if you have the magic formula or an email address that I haven’t already tried, I’m all ears.
