I am trying to find answers to my questions, but to remove any doubt, I allow myself to ask you.
Many questions, feel free to answer them even partially:
On LeBonCoin, can a private account be changed to a professional account while keeping its reviews?
How does billing for the « auto equipment » category work? Only insertion fees and no percentage retained on sales?
In this category, are variations possible with different prices?
I hear about 50 free ads? Is this the case? Does it apply to this category? If so, do renewals occur every two months as with private accounts and do they deduct from this credit?
Is changing only the stock of an ad considered an edit that incurs a charge?
Thank you in advance for your feedback and clarifications.
I had asked LBC support a long time ago: the answer was no. You cannot transform a personal account into a professional account. Things may have changed since I received that answer.
Hello @ADHL
I confirm Faune’s answer, you cannot transform a personal account into a professional account on LBC.
You can, however, easily have several by simply using a different phone number and email address.
Your professional account will then be additional.
You will have to manage 2 accounts (1 personal + 1 professional)
Therefore, you will not keep the reviews from your personal account.
It’s not a big deal in itself, since if you sell quite a bit, you will get reviews very quickly.
Insertion fees.
There is no % on LBC.
However, it becomes very expensive for you as a professional when you significantly exceed 50 ads.
Yes, there are fees when you modify an ad (as a professional).
This is again a considerable cost when you have a lot of ads to post.
Well, we remain on a personal account even if you are a professional, precisely to avoid the constraints of a professional account on LBC which is strictly useless. (except for Real Estate, Auto).
You sell just as well, or even better, with a personal account, which does not cost you any unnecessary fees.
I’ve had personal accounts on LBC for years, I accept secure payments, I no longer do in-person deliveries, and I use the proposed carriers, either Mondial Relay, Shop2Shop, or Colissimo, depending on the customer’s choice, just like on Vinted.
When customers ask me (it’s rare), I provide the corresponding invoice for the purchase made.
Of course, I always redirect customers to my own shop if they want multiple units of an item (since LBC does not allow the same item to be listed in quantity).
For the funds, I transfer them to my professional bank account in order to account for the sales made and declare them.
This has happened to me two or three times over a few months, one or more of my listings have been removed following a user report.
First time, indeed, I hadn’t paid attention, I had two identical listings, even if the photos and descriptions were different.
Second time, removal of a few listings, still the same warning.
And at the beginning of the week, all of my listings, overnight following a user report again apparently.
Whereas indeed, other users, who offer one or two identical products and who should also encounter the same problems in this case, do not seem to be worried..
So these reports are a disaster!
How can one look oneself in the mirror when one is a « snitch ».
I’ve already given my opinion on the subject, I won’t say more, I’ll be vulgar.
Especially since there are some who are quite proud and mix everything up.
Same here, a good slap in the face if I ever meet one in real life.
If you had reports and your account was « Banned » like on Vinted, well you create another one with another email, and another phone number.
Be careful not to make duplicate listings, otherwise you have some [censored] who report you, even though you are a professional, and they try to work.
Do I create a new account? But in this case, no more badges, no more reviews… How will buyers react? I will have to regain their trust, they might prefer to turn to sellers with reviews and ratings…
New email address is not a problem, but another phone number… I would need to get one from a relative. What is the use of the phone number on LBC if you leave it masked on the ads?
And what about the tax number?
Already transmitted on my current LBC account.
Before the end of the year, if I create a new account, I will have to transmit it again. Won’t they risk cross-referencing the information?
I can’t tell you, I’ve never had the slightest problem with LBC. Sometimes their business service calls me, but unfortunately it shows up on the phone and I don’t answer, so they leave me alone. So I haven’t looked into the business side any further. Anyway, for what I do on there…
The number will only be needed when you sign up (in fact, create another account) to receive SMS validation. (to confirm it’s actually your number)
You can find temporary ones on the internet. Just long enough to validate the new phone number.
You won’t need it since you’re creating a new account, but personally.
If you create another Pro account, you’ll get « caught ».
At first, I used to answer and have fun asking them questions (which I knew the answers to).
And we quickly realized their level.
They hire salespeople who absolutely do not know all the features or conditions.
They are certainly young people fresh out of school, trained in half a day.
Most of the time, when you ask a question, you get « I’ll go find out ».
So, I reply, « Go find out before you call, take the time to understand the subject, and then call back when you have all the necessary answers »
After that, they stammer and don’t call back
I can’t understand how they can send beginners to call professionals.
I don’t mind starting out, but still… at least know the Terms and Conditions before trying to sell something. That’s the basics.
These guys call you to sell you a service they don’t know…
It’s structural, though. You’re a pro with long experience, but for LBC, you’re one of the very small accounts. LBC will put its experienced teams in front of large accounts, not very small ones. It’s always and everywhere like that as soon as there’s an asymmetry in business sizes.
My current account is already personal, and they asked me to provide my tax number. They are obliged to report the number of sales and the amounts sold as soon as you exceed, I don’t know, 30 transactions, I think, and/or a certain amount in sales.
So they will ask me for it again, and probably cross-reference it, won’t they?
