New badge on Vinted: fast shipping

Hello!
A new badge has just appeared on my profile:

I like the idea because last week I asked several times if the shipment could be fast.

It seems generalized, and it’s great. I always send the same day or the next - I want to be paid as soon as possible - but this was not visible to buyers.

they are really following the same trajectory as ebay.
Ebay also implemented this at one point, with a small badge. Then they introduced free shipping, then 24-hour shipping, then, then, then, a headlong rush. Unsustainable.

Amazon does this I think, you just have to look at the working conditions of the employees.
I am not in favor. it once again places pressure and anxiety on the seller.
And it’s not fair, you just have to be far enough from a drop-off point or have few lockers to be disadvantaged without being able to do anything about it.
But it’s in the psychological logic I explained in another post.
And from past experience, it doesn’t increase sales.

And where does this dynamic lead?

Hello!

For now, this does not disadvantage anyone: in my opinion, it does not impact visibility. It’s more to inform whether the sending is done quickly or not. If it’s not possible to send quickly for X or Y reason… that’s OK too.
It’s a differentiating element only in my opinion.

Hello,
In principle, the seller has 5 days to send the package, and that’s still quite fast because we have a life outside of Vinted.
I find that it still puts pressure on the seller.
I try to send packages as soon as possible and I got the badge, but the buyer is not necessarily grateful for it. For example, I have a buyer who, as soon as the sale was made, sent me a message asking me to send the package as quickly as possible. I sent the package the same day, and she took her time to pick it up (I even had to send her a reminder message to go get it because I thought she wasn’t going to pick it up in time). She finally went to get it, let the sale validate automatically and the evaluation automatically as well .
And the one who wants a quick shipment but chooses Homerr as the carrier, known for being slower (and more problematic )…

I’ve already experienced this on eBay a while ago, and there were other options like this, which put more and more pressure on the seller.

Let’s be realistic, the one who gains in brand image and marketing is the site, not the seller who bears the constraints.

You’ll get the badge if you ship quickly, Vinted will surely detect the time between the purchase and when it’s marked as shipped.
You also have to take into account that sometimes at drop-off points they scan at the end of the day, or even sometimes, when the carrier passes by, so sometimes the next day. for lockers, there’s no such issue.

Practically, given the posts here and in groups, many struggle to sell, most people sell very little or almost nothing, and when you want to make it your job, it’s all the more stressful, isn’t it?

So what happens?
they think that with this badge, it will improve their sales, except that I can tell you that shipping every day, including Saturday, is very difficult to maintain, it will harm your daily life. it creates stress, and above all, it wastes time on what is important to sell on Vinted.

Traveling for one sale per day… is counterproductive in the extreme. just calculate the cost of a 10 km car trip and the time it takes.

Sure, if you make at least 10 sales per day, have lockers nearby, live without family constraints, or can delegate, it might work. for the remaining 99%…

On eBay, this was one of the many criteria taken into account for your visibility, no doubt it will also be taken into account on Vinted by the algorithms.

in summary:
-it puts pressure on the seller
-It imposes constraints on him by making him lose time on what is essential to succeed in selling, so the profit is negative.
-the beneficiary is the site.

I’m open to a counter-argument

I just discovered this new badge. It’s true that there are more and more similarities with eBay. Generally, I send the same day or the next day at the latest, so it won’t change my habits too much.

Hello everyone :tulip:

Knowing that I’m quite fond of badges awarded by Vinted, I haven’t yet had the chance to earn this one, but to give my opinion, I think it’s a good thing.

Firstly: To stand out among sellers, now that there are so many of us and depending on our operating methods, I find it practical and each badge remains a mark of quality.
Secondly: It puts us in positive competition (if we play the game, of course) in order to send our packages as quickly as possible, and to be paid more quickly.

Personally, I see it positively, but I won’t be rushing for this badge, simply because I work according to MY schedule, I won’t stress about sending my package, especially depending on how far the carrier is. I’m an individual, there’s no point in putting unnecessary pressure on myself.

Have a good day everyone :sparkles:

Hello - this is my first post on Vint’Aid. Fast shipping does not mean fast reception, especially if you order with Relais Colis. I have a package that left on 6/16 and today, 6/25, is still at its starting point. Another one that, to go to the Landes region, goes through Lyon and Paris?? and is still on its way. A fast shipping badge might be a guarantee for the seller, but not for the buyer.

Hello!

Yes, after the unpredictability of carriers, unfortunately… we don’t know them in advance.

To answer @anon90966608, I agree with @Mandinfintiy: absolutely nothing today « forces » us to rush to get this badge. Personally, no, it doesn’t stress me out. Vinted’s rule is always 5 days to ship.

If we think about it the same way, the « publish regularly » badge can also « put pressure on. » I don’t think this badge offers more visibility to those who have it today.
I think above all that Vinted is increasingly trying to gamify its customer experience.

Will this be a badge that is also awarded to pros this time? We have never seen the other badges, and for now I do not have this one either, even though I drop off my packages very often on the same day.

Me neither, I don’t have the right (yet). I’m not a pro but I post my sales within 24, max 48 hours.

@anon90966608 : Thank you for the detailed analysis.

I have a different perspective. I drop off packages every day: the carriers’ pickup points are roughly on my route for errands, with the furthest being 800 meters away.

It’s also because I’m located in a big city: I’m at the optimization stage where I take a small detour on Sundays to go to a particular shop because it’s open on Mondays. I also know that the Mondial Relay truck passes around 10:30 AM, and I’ve happened to see it parked in front of a pickup point, and I’ve hurried to drop off my packages at a shop further away before the truck had time to catch up with me. I have quite a few enthusiastic comments from buyers, happy that it’s as fast as the Post Office.

So, the badge is simply an « automatic bonus » for me. No extra effort required, but a positive image for the few buyers who will notice it.

Nothing obliges us to, for the moment. .
You always have to look further, see the dynamics, and where it leads, to anticipate. The key to lasting for years.

Maybe soon a free shipping option (activated by the seller who pays for it). I wouldn’t be surprised, and it would be in line with that. I used to do it on eBay for orders over a certain amount.

As you say Lucille, it’s about improving the customer experience on the site.

For Faune: you tick all the boxes so that it’s not a constraint
I have everything within a 2 km radius, the best is Chronopost, I live above it.
I must have about 5 MR lockers, 3 Relais colis, 4 for Chrono, and 3 Vinted go.
I also know the delivery times approximately

Which big city are you in? (one of the rare advantages)

And the best of the best is Vinted go, which isn’t a locker, but a classic drop-off store.

I do everything by bike.

On the other hand, I would like to move and losing that would be a significant advantage lost. In fact, it constrains me for a place of residence and/or a business location, because Vinted go has large empty areas.

I don’t know if you still have it? It’s no longer displayed tonight on my end anyway.

Ah yes, it disappeared as quickly as it arrived

On the other hand, the order page has changed, on PC.

I don’t have it anymore either, it has disappeared

nothing on my end  do you have a screenshot to share with us?

I’ve never seen this badge (and I no longer see the « pending » one either). It just seems like developer whims to test user attention :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Suggestion @developer:
Create a badge for the buyer who picks up their purchase within 24 hours.
And a double badge for the buyer who picks up quickly + quickly validates the transaction when they are happy (instead of letting the system do it 48 hours later…)
