I also have dubious duplicates: thank you, I feel less guilty about my (possible) mistakes, since Vinted bot is the culprit! And yes, you can remove duplicates (I discovered that yesterday)
I just realized that when I republish an article with clemz, the old article is not deleted, so I have a lot of duplicates that I have to check/delete one by one. I tried to search for duplicates in the app but it doesn’t find them (except for old articles saved on clemz) but nothing on my dressing
If the item is not deleted with Clemz, could it be due to the import? (This is a question to understand, we don’t have the link to your Clemz account on the forum, so I can’t say for sure that this is the problem don’t hesitate to contact us at bonjour@clemz.app if needed)
Versions prior to 1.30.7 could sometimes offer to import items that it detected as incomplete (mainly accessories, not clothing).
=> By importing, Clemz would then no longer look at the items in the dressing room and would create a new item, thus a potential duplicate.
This is now corrected => Clemz will no longer create duplicates.
And by going through the smart dressing, special filters allow you to detect these duplicates and delete one of them (ideally the older of the two)
Ouch, I hadn’t anticipated this use case!
I’ll see about perhaps offering a choice between importing anyway or republishing the article instead (in the next version).
I’ve thought a bit more about your use case: the problem with importing an existing item on Clemz is that each saved item is designed to correspond to ONLY ONE item on a wardrobe.
So, by importing a duplicate as a draft, you cause the saved item to no longer be linked to the other item (the published one): it is now linked only to the draft.
And when you later republish that published item, it will tell you it doesn’t recognize it, not that it needs to be saved. Basically, this will create quite a bit of confusion between your saved item and your wardrobe…
What I can suggest is adding a « duplicate » feature, but on the Clemz save. This will create a second identical item that you can then import as you wish.
We will then have the saved item with 2 items and your wardrobe with 2 items (one published and the draft). The logic is respected.
@Clement
Anti-duplication was also an issue for me as I sell items that are in stock.
And I very often re-uploaded items from the Dashboard, changing the title, description, and photo location.
This allowed me to save time, especially for photos and descriptions.
So, thank you for enabling this « Duplicate » function (I admit I was disgusted to have had an update that bothered me more than anything else)
However, I had a question.
Why force an « UPDATE »? And not allow an old version to be kept if it suits us.
For example, with this duplication issue, I could no longer list several similar items, and that annoyed me…
Thank you
So this is a basic principle of software: you can’t keep people on an old version forever that will gradually stop working as you make changes.
Therefore, updates must be made regularly (not instantly, but within days, let’s say)
On the other hand, it is indeed my responsibility to ensure that I do not remove a feature that was useful. I hope that with this duplication issue, we’ve covered your use case
Indeed… as I pointed out to you, I didn’t say anything but it annoyed me
It’s very good… and the request to change the title before Duplicating is Top
The only problem is that downloading the photos is not working. (perhaps to look into)
So, I add them to the duplicated ad via the Dashboard, before re-publishing (anyway, I was changing the photos to avoid duplicate detection)
On the other hand, this saves me from redoing the description, and there, we save time
