Hello,
We all started somewhere, why would it go wrong?
It’s great if the buyer bought your item without any negotiation… that’s the goal, isn’t it?
I regularly have transactions with new profiles and it’s rarely them who cause problems
You must cancel the sale by mutual agreement if you don’t want a negative review.
Thank you for your positivity and kindness, but I hear so many bad experiences that I am hesitant. In this particular case, it doesn’t reassure me. 0 profile info, 0 photo, in short… it’s a feeling.
I can understand that, but I think it also depends on the value of the item. In my case, I deal with low/medium value items, so I don’t have that problem, but if I were dealing with higher value items, I think I would be much more careful myself.
Because let’s never forget that with Vinted anything is possible: « An immediate, even permanent ban » without a real reason, stumbling upon a unscrupulous buyer who ultimately manages to get a refund without us being able to protest…
I completely understand what you mean, but you know yourself that unfortunately, and we see it a lot in the French community, there are more and more dishonest people. When you have a large flow of sales, you can afford to have a margin of error or peace of mind, but someone with low sales volume and fairly expensive items won’t necessarily approach the subject in the same way, and after all, we are human, so we all have different perspectives
If you have doubts about your buyer, you can also be cautious by taking photos of all stages of their packaging: just before packing it, in the packaging, sealed packaging. Obviously, with the shipping label next to it and several shots of each stage.
In case of a dispute, you have proof of your good faith.
Personally, I am more wary of profile 0 who knows all of Vinted’s best practices than of someone who buys directly. I’ve never had A problem with those.
I have an annual sales volume in the four figures, and if I have 2 or 3 bad sales a year, that’s the most. And often I deal with people who aren’t very sharp, so the rules turn against them. At some point, you also have to accept that yes, there will be a few sales that go wrong: dishonest buyers, lost packages, damaged by the carrier. It happens.
Hello, it’s always a risk, but it represents less than 1% of transactions with new profiles on Vinted? Personally, I was ripped off once, and it wasn’t a new account… Discussing with Vinted’s AI for a week annoyed me, and I accepted an 80 euro loss…
Since yesterday, I’ve had a lot of new accounts consulting my wardrobe, like 70% accounts with 0 ratings, you too?
Hello Madam, I am in the same situation as you. My item was purchased last night 1 minute after I listed it (yet it is not a sought-after item) and this without negotiation. This person’s profile is empty, with no reviews and no items for sale. I immediately sent a message to ensure that the buyer had checked the dimensions of the garment as the item is between two sizes. No response. I followed up today and still no response. This seems very strange to me and I fear a scam. Did you end up selling your item? Did it go well? Have other Vinted sellers had the same experience? What do you advise me to do? Cancel the sale? At the risk of getting a negative review? I only have 5-star reviews. Thank you for your feedback. Have a nice Sunday
I do exactly that, + a photo of the package on the scale in case a buyer claims to have received an empty package.
It slows down the process but there’s no choice to protect myself.
This pair has been for sale for a year with a lot of questions and negotiations that never led to a sale
The day before yesterday, a 10% negotiation was accepted, and the purchase was made last night (24 hours later).
Since these are shoes with a high price (for me), my suspicion increases
The person who bought them has a blank profile: 0 reviews, 0 subscriptions, 0 items, account verified by email.
What bothers me is that they are not communicating at all. I sent them a message when I accepted their offer and another to thank them after their purchase. In the vast majority of cases, people communicate at least a little.
What do you think? Do you have any advice? Can photographing the shipping steps protect against a potential scam?
