I am new to the forum, and I greet you. I was about to write « newly condemned on Vinted ».
They say that Justice is lenient, but it is rather swift on Vinted.
My condemnation follows a warning, or rather a denunciation from a single Vinted member, whose name I will omit out of Christian charity, but whom I have not forgotten. This member had sent me a warning asking me to remove an insignia. It was a period eagle for a Kriegsmarine Officer’s jacket, clutching the « Hakenkreuz » in its claws: the hooked cross (the original German term).
Almost at the same time, my ad was refused, the cause-and-effect link seemed obvious to me. I may have made the wrong choice by relisting my ad, but this time, completely censoring the Hakenkreuz, which, for me, was no longer subject to the law.
My account was then « permanently blocked ». I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth, I regret this decision, I had good ratings and 55 followers. I was selling military clothing, militaria, and books.
I then responded to a message, which I believe was automated, and then I went to the legal section… same answer.
I plead guilty. But the penalty is a bit harsh.
I regret this penalty because Vinted has a European audience, and I had indeed sold several times in Europe. The other major site is limited to France. Vinted therefore has a monopoly, and can thus refrain from being polite or measuring its decisions.
I would like to add a smiling and true anecdote.
In 1972, (yes, I’m starting to get old), to get to work, I used to get off at LILLE station every day, and return in the evening. Next to the station, on a very busy boulevard, there was a small flea market dotted with German insignia from the Second World War. He would have been very happy to put my jacket insignia in his window, unlike Vinted…
Now, if someone can tell me the correct procedure to appeal Vinted’s decision. I have read some messages, but I find it to be a rather dissuasive labyrinth.
