Seller's business account doing trade but not bothered by Vinted

Hello

I would like some insights and advice on a Vinted wardrobe.

She only offers bags, of various styles, where you can clearly see it’s commercial selling, and yet Vinted doesn’t ban her… Do you know how this is possible, when on my side I was banned (even though I was professional) for 3 bags in my wardrobe, all different (a fanny pack, a duffel bag, and a handbag)?

If you have the explanation, I’m all ears. Thank you

Hi, she must not make many sales, that’s why Vinted doesn’t detect commercial activity. And regarding your pro account, that’s weird, what reason did they block you for?

She has 1000 reviews, so she’s selling pretty well. With regular reviews. I was blocked for commercial sales even though I was a professional. Yes, indeed, they were not second-hand items, I admit it, but why isn’t everyone treated the same? She also doesn’t sell second-hand items, it shows

Yes, it’s sometimes unfair, but if she’s been selling for several years, 1000 reviews add up quickly. Personally, Vinted told me to go pro when I was selling a lot (10 sales per day on average) for several weeks. I had planned to go pro, so it didn’t bother me. But it’s common to see personal accounts with commercial activity.

Going pro doesn’t bother me, but I want to be sure I won’t be bothered once I turn pro. Because proposing more than 600 identical (or almost identical) items like she did, I thought Vinted would penalize it quickly! Because personally, last year I was banned for this reason, while many other people fly under the radar.

The only advantage of going pro on Vinted is being able to post and sell a lot, and if they block you for commercial activity, you can legitimately contest it.

I did it, unfortunately they never wanted to listen to anything!

She doesn’t state her items are new, she puts « very good condition » every time, maybe that’s enough?

Yes, you shouldn’t post new articles, one or two is not a problem, but not in large quantities. Even with a pro account.

I used to do that too, and yet it didn’t go through. Nothing new with labels :frowning:

You have probably been reported by other users, which is very common on Vinted. The last time I downloaded the file, I noticed that my professional account had been reported a large number of times.

If we look at this person’s ratings, they are not making massive sales, their sales seem to be spread out over time, maybe that’s it. And there’s nothing to say it will last forever. She could jump ship too, sooner or later, right?

yes sure, but in the meantime we are not all equal when it comes to Vinted, and that’s really annoying… Because we don’t harm anyone, we pay our bills and taxes, and yet they prevent us from working, while they let others do it :frowning:

Hello Nyto33 - what is this download folder where you can learn about the reports concerning you? How can I download it? Thank you very much

Hi, you need to go into settings then privacy settings then into manage account data (at the very bottom on mobile) then you click on make the request and then it takes a little while, they send you a link to download this file which contains everything concerning your account. Be careful, it’s a large file, several gigabytes for me, but it’s very useful.

yes, it’s very useful, but we don’t know who is reporting, for privacy reasons, and fortunately, otherwise it would be war ^^ Well, I hope to be able to do like her when I’m pro again!

Hello @Camtajoie

Be careful with the keywords we use that tickle Vinted’s « bots ».
Like the word « Banana » for a fanny pack or the « cigarette » or « carrot » cut for trousers or jeans

yes but in how much time? 1000 reviews in 10 years or in 3 months is not the same thing and it still remains 1000 reviews. Especially since there may also be purchases in these reviews. When you look at the date of her reviews, in the end there aren’t that many per month.

Otherwise, for your initial question, Vinted is not exactly a model of consistency so some slip through the cracks but nothing guarantees that it will last. I have seen many say that they had no problems because THEY did things well etc. … and then one day it hit them.

Regarding her account, first of all, she does not list items as new and for this type of item that are not in their box, it is difficult to differentiate from used for the bot. Where she could get into trouble one day is that she has similar models in different colors.

And so what do you recommend then?
