Buyer canceling purchase before shipping

Hello everyone, a buyer is purchasing one of my books. I’m preparing the shipment: bubble envelope, printed label, one part inside the envelope, the other on the envelope, all taped up. On my way to the locker, I receive a message from the buyer indicating they are canceling the sale because they already have this text?? Didn’t they look at the photo of my listing or what. Anyway, what do I do now? Do I lose money on the packaging? If I accept, what happens? Do they get a negative review? I find that on Vinted there are a lot of people who are just messing around.

If you send the package, you run the risk that the buyer will not pick it up and will still be refunded, plus it increases the back and forth trips so the risk of the package returning damaged. In short, it’s not very useful.

The buyer should be compensated after cancellation, why order to cancel or not collect the package??

You can keep the item in its packaging. Once it is repurchased, you will only need to change the shipping slip. :wink:

If you accept, there will be no negative review. It’s a hassle, I understand, but indeed it’s better than sending it and knowing there will definitely be a dispute or return afterward!

Actually, when you have already created the shipping label and thus packed the item, if the buyer requests a cancellation, Vinted asks us if we accept the cancellation (as we may have already dropped off the package).

Whether you accept or reject the cancellation, if the buyer doesn’t pick up the package, it will be returned to you, and you will have made a round trip to the drop-off point for nothing.

I think if the buyer cancels their purchase, they will get a negative review, unless it’s their first time, I think.
If the package is sent and the buyer doesn’t pick it up, they will be refunded and won’t get a negative review (unfortunately). Also, there’s always the risk that the package will be lost or damaged, so I would accept the cancellation (I’ve already had this happen, and now for another package, I feel like the buyer is going to pull the stunt of not picking up her package despite my reminder message​:roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes:).

Thank you for all your messages, the cancellation request has disappeared, so I sent the package, we’ll see. The problem is when you put part of the label inside the package, to resell it you have to repack it.

I don’t know what reason generates evaluations and what doesn’t. On my end, I’ve had both cases (as a seller and a buyer) and each time I had no negative feedback or automatic feedback. I think we chose by mutual agreement in both cases, whereas here he put « address error ».

For evaluations, if the seller cancels, or the buyer cancels, it’s a negative evaluation unless the « mutual agreement » option is chosen and the slip has not yet been uploaded.
Those who buy with bots know the trick well.

Hello, I had a problem with a customer who did not pick up a package sent by Vinted Go and who canceled her order… I remained in communication with her and she told me that the package was returned to the drop-off point and was indicated as returned to her locker… (as she is honest and had been refunded, she did not pick it up) and after about ten emails to vinted@vinted.fr and more than a month of waiting, the package was sent back to me… I should also point out that Vinted Go drop-off points are few and far between if you don’t live in a city and that they are sometimes out of order…
