Professional Account vs. Personal Account Visibility
Personally, I really struggle to sell with my professional account, whereas it’s incredibly easy with my personal one… and you?
I have the exact same problem, as if there was a shadowban on the pro. Weird
Same here…
I tested the same items on both accounts and there’s no comparison in terms of visibility and sales. But why shadowban us? Might as well just ban professionals from the platform…
I really don’t get it.
I’m just a small seller with a personal account but also a buyer lol and it’s true that I’ve been thinking that I NEVER see business accounts anymore during my searches when before I saw tons of them!!
I recently went pro, no change in visibility.
it’s normal, Vinted favors recent accounts to hook the customer. Even on my recreated personal account, I had atomic visibility for the first three months.
The pro/personal gap is real and often mentioned here. On the other hand, I’m not convinced about the intentional « shadowban » of pros: Vinted is actively promoting its Pro offering, so intentionally throttling it wouldn’t make much sense. The gap is more likely due to a combination of concrete factors.
On the buyers’ side: many come looking for « a good deal between individuals. » The Pro badge and the 14-day right of withdrawal (mandatory for a professional seller) give a more « shop-like » image, leading to fewer impulse buys and clicks, even at the same price.
On the algorithm side: the feed primarily highlights freshness and engagement. A new pro account starts almost from scratch (little history, few reviews) and struggles to get going, just like a new personal account.
What really helps: vary your photos (never two listings with the same visual), set very competitive prices at launch, publish and refresh in small, regular batches rather than in large chunks, complete your profile thoroughly, and gather a few reviews as quickly as possible. It improves gradually.
This is undoubtedly true, and impossible to get feedback on, since buyers who turn away upon seeing the pro badge don’t come to tell us.
Nevertheless, I’m surprised by the number of people who don’t look at that, as they ask me questions showing they think I wore the item.
Indeed, if the professional seller offers the same service as the individual, then they are not of interest.
For my part, I don’t target the customer who is looking for a good deal; I target the one who is looking for an item that truly suits them. Therefore, I offer a more complete and rigorous service than the majority of non-professionals in terms of presentation and description of the item. I ensure that the buyer has no unpleasant surprises and receives exactly what they thought they ordered.
As such, I sometimes sell damaged items, but I make sure that the buyer is perfectly clear about what they are buying.

On the other hand, the voluntary
Just with the mandatory legal provisions alone, the service is not the same and the buyer is much better protected with a professional: obligation of results, two-year warranty on new items, one year on used items (plus one year for hidden defects, but that never works, that’s just hot air), 14-day right of withdrawal (which on used items is still a huge advantage, even an invitation to abuse).
So it depends on what we sell. For anything electronic for example (video games, toys, hi-fi, music…) these are still significant advantages that can even lead to the question of whether it’s not sometimes better to pay more. In my category, private sellers have to give huge discounts to sell. Last month, I had a figurine that I sold three times, whereas a private individual is selling it three times cheaper than me and it is still for sale on their page. Especially since collectors who like to receive items that are truly flawless and well-protected can be more reassured by a reliable professional who will pack them solidly, with bubble wrap etc… than by private individuals who may sometimes have some bizarre practices (like taping directly onto the product box, which is often the most important element for this category of buyers).
They even removed the pro badge that was on each listing. So I think there’s a desire not to highlight pros anymore. I put the items back on my personal account and then it took off, so…
It’s crazy… We’re all noticing the same thing
Did you set the same price for the item?
Honestly, I’m hesitating to transfer everything to my personal account too, but if I make too many sales on it, Vinted will eventually ask me to switch to a professional account, so it’s endless…
So, I had an interesting experience by accident. I have an item that I sell regularly, the price was at 25 bucks then sales stopped. I lowered the price to 20 bucks and still no sale. I had sold a box on my character, and I re-listed. But I had forgotten that I had lowered the price so it remained at 25, all the rest of my stock sold in three days (but I reordered some) on the character and still no sales on the pro. And the ad gets three times more views in 1 hour than in 1 month on the pro.
It’s mind-blowing… I’ll try it to see and I’ll let you know if I get the same result!
Do you declare what you sell on your personal account? How do you do it specifically? It’s just that aspect that scares me a little ![]()
On the other hand, it seems to me that we need to retake different photos, is that right? I remember trying it and my listing was deleted a few seconds later. Yet I had cropped the photos and hidden the listing on the pro account!
yes, I include it in my Urssaf revenue. I know it’s not 100% perfect, but at least I’ve declared it.
yes, you have to take different photos. And I make sure they have nothing in common (to reduce the risk of reports). But I put much less stuff on the personal account.
In general, I use it to sell boxes that have defects, I state it clearly in the listing, but since it’s a personal account, it goes over better, I’ve never had any disputes. I even manage to sell damaged boxes at the same price as on the pro account with perfect boxes.
