Data deletion after blocking (feedback)

Hello everyone!

Having been blocked at the end of August 2025, like everyone else, I had hoped my data would be erased after the 7 months so announced by Vinted…

Obviously, it was quite different! (In my case, I had still created a new account a few months after the block, but using my partner’s details)

Namely, in my case, I have not yet been asked for my ID with my new account

I can simply confirm that as of today, Vinted no longer possesses my data! I don’t know if it’s been more than a month or not.

I had sent them an email to access my data, and they just replied that they found nothing!

I then tried to re-enter my own IBAN and phone number, and it worked!

Hoping that this feedback can help those who have been wrongly kicked out :sweat_smile:

So, are the famous 7 months respected? And for the SIRET number? I hope it’s deleted too!

Precisely not, after 7 months, it wasn’t erased at all. We almost had to wait a year

I received a message from Vinted indicating that my account would be deleted on July 30, exactly 7 months after my block, so I believed it ^^

Don’t believe it too much, I think. They told me the same thing too. And it wasn’t the case. The only thing that really happened after 7 months was that when I wanted to log in, it said « account deleted »

But when I sent an email for my data, they had all of it in their possession.

No, as I wrote in my post, I don’t know exactly when it was. I confirmed the information I had.

It seems my account was blocked around August 20th. Looking through email exchanges with Vinted, on April 20th they still possessed my data. That’s 8 months later.

They are tiresome for not doing what they promise, even though it is clearly stated in their privacy policy that it is deleted after 7 months!

Actually, not quite… They also say that some data can be kept longer for security reasons, without specifying exactly which ones. And their terms and conditions are very well written because even the CNIL couldn’t do anything :sweat_smile:

yes, but it’s either 7 months, or 13 months, or 10 years… You’re not within any of the specified dates. If it had been 13 months, you wouldn’t have been able to retrieve your IBAN for the account you have now yet.

Did they give you a specific date for account deletion, like I received (via Vinted message)?

I don’t remember, Vinted mostly repeated « 7 months after the block » so I don’t know :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Nothing makes sense or has any logic with them.

Why were you blocked? Because after suffering several blocks, when it wasn’t legitimate, I was able to recover my account each time (and for the last one I foolishly played with fire and lost :sweat_smile:)

Sales. I have often managed to recover my account as well, but this time it’s impossible, I’ve been struggling for 7 months!

What was your last reason? Was it a business or personal account? Mine was a business account.

I used to sell bags, like many other Vinties, who are not bothered. All in « very good condition »

It had been going on for years without me being bothered and suddenly they took everything down without knowing anything

So you also played with fire :sweat_smile: you rarely win when you go against the rules, personally it served me well, they won’t catch me there again!
