Account blocked and GDPR

Hello,

Like many others, I have an account that has been permanently blocked.

And therefore a ban on creating a new account (yes, yes, I’ve sent a multitude of emails and messages to Vinted, all without answers or with automatic responses).

I asked myself a question: What if we asked Vinted to completely delete all our data from their servers (as European GDPR laws allow us to do) and then we could create a brand new account again without our old data on their servers?

Is this a viable line of reasoning?

I think so. I saw on YouTube someone who went through the whole process, with a lawyer and all that jazz, I couldn’t tell you if it took 1 month or 1 year but the conclusion was that he was no longer known on Vinted. So it’s definitely a possibility but I see a lot of people here whose accounts are blocked permanently… then actually not! Vinted will eventually respond, I hope.

Hello, I also have my PRO account permanently blocked for « illicit practice » while I sell natural stones.

I had 2 disputes in 2 weeks because I received 2 empty packages.

I posted an item and immediately after I got the « account blocked » page.

I appealed on Vinted, they replied that it was still no to reopen my account but that I could appeal again.

But I also contacted legal@vinted.fr and CC’d the one that ends with .com

I received a response that my case is under review because I requested all the evidence that led to this decision and the review by a human and not a robot.

Do you think there is a chance I can get it back?

Hello, maybe see you. I’m still stuck to this day since February, I’ve done everything…

I’m just coming back for a small clarification, according to some YouTube videos, apparently the CNIL cannot always succeed in getting data deleted… Many complain about negative feedback from the CNIL!!

And if you’re lucky, apparently according to some people, it takes 6 months for it to be deleted…

Hello,
From a reliable source ( = Vinted’s terms and conditions, which I’ve read several times), account deletion occurs after 6 months.
It seems that Vinted sometimes doesn’t enforce this delay… But that’s another topic.

And how do we know if the account is deleted? If we can no longer log in?

Thank you all for your replies, I’ve read them all carefully.

I have recreated an account with a new SIM card, a new email address, and a new IBAN (from Revolut, I took the free account and ordered the card for 8 euros).
I will wait for all of this to be activated before starting to sell again.
I am still using the same PC with the same IP and I have taken an old mobile phone that I have reset.
Now, I’m wondering if this will pass when they ask me for ID verification?!

Good question… some claim they have no problem despite having the same name on the IBAN and using the same ID scan, others say they had issues… we’ll never know
