I am new to this forum and would like your opinion and valuable advice, please. I received a massive reporting cyberattack on my Vinted account, with all my listings reported for « photos from the web. » For some listings, I could understand it, as I directly used photos from a website for convenience, but here, ALL my listings, including those where the photos were mine, were unjustly deleted. Furthermore, the Vinted service is completely failing; they delete the listing at the slightest report and only provide automatic responses without real analysis of the situation.
I have 3 questions:
Has this ever happened to you, and is there a way to avoid it?
Could this be a robot attack or a raid by jealous people? I almost exclusively have 5-star reviews, but sometimes people are disappointed when I don’t respond, or the item gets sold before they can buy it. Moreover, the speed at which the listings were deleted seemed almost automatic (about 1 every 30/40 seconds, and a total of nearly 70 listings were deleted).
Is there a way to access our data regarding the reports we receive on our account? If so, can we know the origin of the accounts?
Thank you for your time and understanding. By the way, my account has not been banned, and I do not use any bots like Clemz or other automation tools, but I think I will use Clemz soon given its practicality. Just 2 days before this incident, I had received a temporary suspension following reports as well, which only lasted 25 minutes, after which Vinted apologized for the inconvenience as my account perfectly respected the rules.
There are quite a few answers to your questions on the forum.
From what I’ve learned in a few days:
It happened to me once on my personal account, and yes, I had taken photos from the web. The ad was posted over a year ago, and it was only recently when I started posting other ads using photos from the web that my previous ad, as well as all my future ads, were automatically deleted. It could be people reporting it. But in my case, I think the bot detected at some point that I was taking duplicate photos with slight modifications, and therefore relaunched a full analysis of my ads by lowering its detection tolerance, which caused almost all my ads to be removed.
It could be the bot, or it could be people reporting you.
Yes, it is possible to download, via your privacy settings, a file containing the numerous reports you have received. I don’t know if the dates of the reports are included, but the usernames of the people reporting are not displayed.
I think you’ll have to turn the page after this unfortunate experience and learn from your mistakes. You should consider yourself lucky not to be banned, because on Vinted it’s a lottery.
Hello, thank you for your response. I was able to observe in my privacy settings that I had received several almost instantaneous reports before the complete deletion of all my items. This number of reports, however, does not correspond to the number of items that were deleted, and many of them were made at the same time. Perhaps it was a simultaneous attack by several people or a bot, which then wrongly triggered the Vinted bot with no tolerance. Do you know if this can also happen when you have a professional account? Since it has already happened that I took personal photos with a real professional photoshoot look and had them deleted for « Web Photos » even though these photos belong to me. However, I think that a professional account is obliged to use this type of photo, so is there the same strictness for this type of account?
I contacted one to inform them that if I saw my name appear even once, I would file a complaint directly (Harassment, obstruction of the right to undertake, etc. ………), plus a report to Facebook, 1 hour later it was closed.
By contacting them via legal@vinted they will reinstate your ads but it can take some time. A small clarification, white funds seem to cause problems so avoid them.
Hello, do you think that for an account that has been blocked abusively and without real reason, one can contact legal@vinted? Or is it just legal? Thank you.
