Banned for adult figurines

Hello, I recently joined, but I’ve been using Vinted as a consumer and occasional seller for a while now.

Recently, I tried to help my sister sell her figurines, as she refuses to install any resale sites.
The problem is that these are « adult » figurines. To get around this, I tried everything:

  • Stickers on parts that might trigger the bot
  • Cropped photos of the figurines/only the figurine’s face
  • Doing what’s necessary to keep the description neutral.

To be honest, there was nothing very risqué about these figurines. One of them was in a bikini but leaning forward (which I tried to appeal, but I got a basic response, I quote:
« We have identified inappropriate content in your ads[…] »
Then another in lingerie on all fours (I totally understand that one, I showed a profile picture, so the silhouette of the buttocks was visible)
Then the last one in a bath towel drying her hair.

On each of them, I censored the cleavage, buttocks, and private parts, including on the box.

It’s extremely frustrating, plus I had packages on the way from myself that I had bought…
In short, if I manage to create a new account by some miracle, I’ll leave my sister in her corner. faaar away from my account.

I’ve appealed multiple times, but I still haven’t gotten a response.

Hello, (I’m nice!)

Realistically, we need to call a spade a spade…
You tried to sell disgusting « inflatable dolls »!

Besides, do you really think Vinted is the place to sell adult « toys »?
I’m asking you seriously, « sweetie »!

Where it gets tricky is that these are « adult » figurines. To counter this, I tried everything:

That’s unbelievable! :joy: :joy:
Are you frustrated because you’re being prevented from selling prohibited items?

Yeah, we’d rather you didn’t actually! We’d prefer you sell your adult items on specialized sites!

Here! The door is this way! ===>

Well, well… Plus, Vinted has a phone number! :joy: :joy:

I am forwarding this to the person concerned with a little less sarcasm (but still meaner).
It is true that selling these kinds of items is not appropriate. But how to explain this to a person so accustomed to these kinds of figurines? Absolutely impossible, believe me, I tried.
Personally, I only sold clothes until now.
Should I have asked questions when she showed me similar ads, or even the same figurine for sale? Perhaps, unfortunately, the damage is done.
I hope your message can make her reconsider her… original choice of collection, if one can call it that…
But thank you anyway, this is exactly how I felt about all of this!

There’s « adult » and « adult », is this taken from a specific license? For example, the Altaya collection dedicated to Manara reproduced the heroines of his comics with sometimes suggestive poses, and yet we’re talking about items sold at the local tobacco shop, visible to everyone. But hey, when you read some prudes here, you’d think we’d gone back to the 50s

In any case, from experience, I censor as much as possible with A4 paper cutouts when it comes to magazines with suggestive covers (which is the majority of the comic press from the 80s; even Pilote showed cleavage, even though these publications cannot be classified as for adults).

Oh no, this is even worse! These are manga-style figurines, so they are probably as suggestive and sexualized as possible…

Honestly, I don’t really understand the hype around these collectibles… to each their own, I guess…

Sell them on eBay, I think they are less picky about that

We already avoided the famous « it’s for a friend »

A bit too late to resell them, we just threw them away a few minutes ago.

I know this type of person very well, who apologizes with lies such as « for a friend », but this is not the case here.

I was kidding, he’s just a running gag

:face_with_peeking_eye:

But why? you could have given them away.

It was his choice (I admit, slightly influenced by my anger), and I doubt anyone would want to receive such figurines. Except of course for cases like hers..

Okay, that’s the end of all this, thank you all for listening to me pour out my thoughts on this site, all the best to you all!

There are customers

Given that this is my sector, the figurine, I think I would have managed to resell them on eBay

And he left, now! You just missed the deal of the century! You should have started negotiating as soon as he sent his first message! Since it’s blocked on Vinted, you’ll make deals on Vint Aid! I’ll help you: if anyone has figurines to throw away, contact Gametoysretro before doing so.

No, that’s not really how I meant it.
