New Vinted T&Cs

Yes, clearly. But there are still several things to point out.

First of all, this story of labels is still specific to clothing, but Vinted has diversified a lot, so it no longer really makes sense to use it on all categories. Like the ages of clothes that we have to put on things that have nothing to do with it.

Then you need to know that Vinted is out of line (they are not the only ones, almost all of them do it) by allowing individuals to display NEW. Only professionals have the right to do so in theory, and the condition of the item is not the only criterion. From the moment an item has been purchased from a professional structure by an individual, it is considered second-hand even if it is unopened or unused. Hence the « like new » on some platforms. Just as an item can be sold new even without its packaging (or have been unpacked) by a professional.

A telling example. At one point I had a good deal to get an item and I realized that a store that bought used items bought them back for more than I could resell them for. Well, I brought the items back in their original packaging, the store (which I know well) took them back without any problems and they put them directly back on sale in the used bin as is. It’s even funnier because they themselves were selling the same item as new in the same aisle and they are well known for selling unpacked items.

It’s like a car bought from a dealer, it crosses the threshold and it’s used with a 20% price reduction.
