Dressing room vs. item boost... which works better?

Hello everyone!

I’m here to share my experience with showcase and item boosts.

As a reminder:
Boosts: only on 1 item, you select the duration (3 days or 7 days) and the location (in France, or international).
You can choose an international boost for a maximum of 7 days.
The price varies depending on the platform, there are often discounts. (-30%)

Showcase: your entire wardrobe is highlighted in searches. You pay a fixed price of €9.95 (it has increased since last year :smiling_face_with_tear:). Even if you add items to your wardrobe, the price doesn’t change.

I have already tested both features, never at the same time. Either one or the other.
I have a preference for the showcase, which works every time! I always sell during the week my wardrobe is showcased. The following week is sometimes a bit tough  but it depends!

Unlike the showcase… the boost has always been a flop. I tested it on several types of items (clothes and accessories) and several ranges (premium and luxury) but… no results. The item never sold, neither during the boost nor after.

During the showcase, like the boost, I advise you to be active on your wardrobe: re-uploading/uploading with Clemz, sending messages to favorites… that’s what, in my opinion, leads to results

And you, do you use these paid Vinted features? What do you think of them?

Hello - As far as I’m concerned, I no longer use either of them. I did some tests that yielded nothing. Barely more visits and with no results, so what’s the point?? I don’t understand sellers who boost items that are already very cheap.

Hello!

Thank you for this feedback. Did you test recently or a few months ago?
But yes, I understand, when it yields nothing… it’s difficult to try again.

Hello,

For me, if you want to make big sales on Vinted, the showcase boost is essential.

Since I made it my job, it has always been active.

Personally, I never use boosts per item. If your item doesn’t get any statistics (views, favorites, etc.), it means there’s a problem with the listing:

  • Wrong title
  • Incorrect categorization
  • Bad photo (lack of brightness, too many wrinkles, poorly framed)
  • Not the right time to sell (seasonal item)
  • Price too high

For my part, I showcase my wardrobe every week, and I find it yields results. I also put boosts on certain items, generally above 30 euros, otherwise it’s not worth the effort.

Hello - I haven’t tried recently but I doubt it’s any better because there are more and more sellers and also new categories. If everyone showcases or boosts, we also end up being drowned in the crowd, so what’s the point? What is more effective in my opinion is to publish a lot or republish old ads.

Hello!

Do you think showcasing every week really leads to more sales than not? I’m interested in the answer :slightly_smiling_face:

For window dressing, which I use, for it to work you need a lot of items of the same style, focus on niches; otherwise, it’s pointless.
Yes, it works well.

If someone types « blue Hilfiger polo » and you have a lot of Hilfiger polos, especially blue ones and/or in multiple sizes in your shop, it will appear on the first page (there are 2 shops highlighted on the first page). The person will go to your shop and the sale will happen.

If you have all sorts of items, it’s pointless (I could be wrong ), let’s say very little point.

Boosting an inexpensive item can be a loss leader, like selling for 0 in traditional retail (not at a loss, mind you).

For it to work, this item must already be in demand and produced at a high cost or be competitive. The unoriginal example: Ralph Lauren shirt . TNF fleece.

If an item is not in demand, boosted or not, no one will look for it. For the few who are interested, boosting is useless because they will stumble upon it.

And of course, as Lucille said, be active.

Oh yes, indeed!

Thanks @anon90966608 for this detailed feedback!

1 million? oh damn! you must be in many categories?
I’m at 6/7000 days.
Today 500, surely a problem somewhere.

@anon90966608 : nothing to worry about other categories appearing on Vinted besides clothes. By selling books on it, I never exceeded 100 daily visits…

Since republishing my items leads to sales, the items being republished are sold but still get republished, so I stopped republishing.

Since then, I take another Vinted account, create bundles in my wardrobe, buy and cancel by mutual agreement, and click on the republish option that Vinted offers. And the items are republished and highlighted.

So thanks to this, my sales explode, as well as my showcase wardrobe appearances, I gain 100 followers in 3-4 days.

Are many of you having sales during your republications?
I imagine this only happens because you space out your republications enormously and the process takes place over several hours…

If that’s the case, I can think about a « do not republish sold items » button.

Nothing on my end, no :slightly_smiling_face: but indeed I don’t space them out much (50 seconds.)

Same here, the case has never arisen. The ads I republish have been lingering for several months and it’s rare for people to come across them. That’s precisely why I republish them.

It happened to me once in 2 years with Clemz. On the other hand, it’s true that I was bothered because I only realized it the next day when the item had been sold again.

What do you mean by sales during the republic?

Hello!
This means that a sale occurs before the item is re-published by Clemz, but Clemz still re-publishes the item after this sale. So the item is back on sale (as if you had 2 of them, in a way.)

Hello, could you explain your way of doing things with your 2 accounts? I’m sorry, I didn’t understand your explanation. Thank you for your answer. Good morning. Véro :sun:
