How does the algorithm work (0 views)?

Hello, I would really like to understand Vinted’s algorithm to understand why I have 0 views on some items posted at the same time as others that get 15 views, even though I only post in the evenings and regularly, everything is completed in the description, and I have 70 positive recommendations, I reply super fast and ship within 24 hours. For example, when I list a Lacoste item for €25, I get up to 400 views and 40 favorites, but other items aren’t viewed much more (intentionally priced higher because I then reduce them a lot and buyers accept them this way)? I have of course tried using a week-long boost, with no additional favorites.

I’m going to delete the items and repost them with different photos (but I don’t have other spots to display them at home) but I need to understand what’s wrong before I do that. Do you also have new items with 0 views?

Thanks girls

OK, Floflo, it’s the World Cup, but do you think that for this reason, there will be a rush for Primark T-shirts with slightly crumpled flags?

When for example, they have these at Decathlon for new at €10?

Perhaps your items are not priced correctly, or you will have to wait a while to find someone interested. If you want everything to sell quickly, then you need to offer really attractive prices.

:joy: :joy: forgive me but that comment made me laugh so hard :joy: :joy: (you’re right @Frenchysacha )

Now, to answer

And did you sell it?
I think the answer is No…

These are extensions (or apps, as you wish) that give you views and favorites as soon as there’s a keyword like « Lacoste »
There are pseudo-buyers who scour for bargains to resell them using these extensions (or software)
There’s your answer FloFlo
And follow, if I may say so, Frenchysacha’s comment (:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: yes, I’m taking the liberty ) who is right when he points out that a minimum is to set the right price!

Good luck to you…

I regret that you are laughing at your own contempt. I am reselling clothes for my whole family to afford treatment for a rare illness because I have no health insurance, so it’s a shame to judge without knowing. I don’t even know where this t-shirt came from; I have family visiting and I’m listing items. Furthermore, I have already proven myself with 70 five-star shipments, so I am professional. I come to this forum to improve and understand how to get views. I don’t sell anything for under €10, prioritizing my personal time and travel. I find it shameful that people sell items for €1 and travel for so little; it pollutes the world. The other « Lee » jeans that I am selling with a price tag (at €80) also have barely 3 views after weeks; I don’t understand, so I was wondering. Thank you anyway to those who tried to help me!

But no… Flo… there’s no contempt… not at all…
We can laugh in life (at a remark) without having an inappropriate ulterior motive, let alone contempt…

Hey oh… life is hard for everyone… so allow us to have 2 minutes of fun… right

You wonder why you don’t have views on an item that is sold at the same price in stores.
We answer you (with a bit of irony, it’s true) that you need to review your prices… that’s all …

And besides, I answered you why you had 400 views on a (wrinkled :joy: … I’m kidding) Lacoste sweater…
they aren’t « real » views in fact …
So don’t think you’ll get 100 views for a 2.50€ t-shirt from Belgium in a store that sells low-end items, which YOU are offering for 8 bucks…
frankly… come on… right… smile  (like in your photo)

And here… a tip… stop with your prices at 12.99, 9.99… make it 13 or 10
You’re going to get banned from Vinted… Bots don’t support that for individuals…

Prices ending in 99 cents are reserved for professionals, for new items…

Hello,

I have over 2000 reviews (7 years…) and I’m selling to declutter. I quite agree that the only thing that matters on Vinted is PRICE, people don’t hesitate to negotiate like crazy! but if you don’t get views, it’s unfortunately too expensive. I sell everything for a minimum of €1.99 (so I don’t agree with ACO, the listings that cause me problems are the new ones).

Afterwards, you can try to sell at a high price but then you need a presentation on a mannequin or folded neatly and without creases so that the buyer understands that it’s serious. And you have to republish your items regularly and at different times because between 6 PM and 8 PM there is too much turnover on the platform.

Good luck, Vinted is a jungle

Dear aco, could you please check what you are saying? I have never set prices ending in €0.99, only €19 or €9 with discounts. But if I have to round up, then I would put €10, although personally I find it easier to buy at €9 than €10. And yes, I don’t have anything to iron items with; not everyone has the means to de-wrinkle clothes, especially at low prices, buyers can understand that. And most of my items are new due to compulsive spending by the family (a real scourge for everyone).

thank you for your testimony! and yes I know that after 3 months (or even 1 month for certain items) it falls into oblivion and that you have to retake photos, otherwise you can be banned, but I find that when the photos are (relatively) well done, redoing them elsewhere (in another less flattering corner of the house) is not great. After that I’m looking to buy an XXL mannequin to sell my aunt’s clothes in bulk (about a hundred).

There’s no point getting worked up, Floflo. You tell us:

I have 0 views even though my articles are good (typically the t-shirt to support the World Cup, it’s trendy)

Well, the problem is that this t-shirt isn’t a great article. Put yourself in the buyer’s shoes: would you buy such a T-shirt for yourself or for your loved ones for €8? No. Well, others are like you. This T-shirt will sell for €2 maximum.

You tell us:

I don’t sell anything for less than €10, personal ecology of time and travel. I find it shameful that people sell for €1 and travel for so little, it pollutes the world.

Well, in that case, you can give this T-shirt away, because you won’t sell it. But if you offer many items for €1 or €2, you can make it work because buyers will make bundles.

You’re asking for advice, and well, the first is to properly assess the value of your items. You’re wrong to limit yourself.

And there’s nothing shameful about selling items for €1.

On the contrary, moving your car, using carriers, and a pick-up point for €1 in 2026 is shameful and not ecological for the « Vinted » concept. A minimum price of €5 should be offered to make sellers and buyers aware of travel costs. This is the case on Vestiaire Collective (but they take a 30% commission). And personally, I sell 80% cashmere, silk, and linen, so you shouldn’t look down on items made from these natural materials by pricing them under €10. All Shein clothing and the like should be banned from the platform to counter fast fashion.

Ah, I see… The majority of people who sell on Vinted are eco-conscious and only think about one thing? Recycling clothes!
Giving them a second life
Ahhh, I thought it was solely about making money… my mistake.

Well, then give away all those beautiful clothes made of noble materials.
There are charities for that.

I agree with you about the floor price for platforms. It makes for a lot of shipments for very cheap items.

Or else, a minimum price per order. 5 € is not bad. That is to say, you can sell for 1 €, but with a minimum purchase of 5 items.

Regarding buying a mannequin, I don’t recommend it. What works currently is the flat lay photo. You need a good background, light and plain, with lighting, for example, 1 softbox. The best is photos of items being worn, especially for dresses, skirts, nice carrot-cut or sailor-style trousers, etc. Jeans not necessarily.

Assessing the price of what you sell is not easy, especially if there’s an emotional component involved. Vinted is hyper-competitive.

It all depends on your intentions: if it’s to make 2-3 € out of necessity, then do it, but otherwise, you can give it away. For nice pieces, you have Vestiaire. Cashmere can sell well for over 10 €.

Hello everyone,

Please let’s remain respectful even when we disagree, otherwise I will be forced to close this post, although I am certain it is possible to exchange different points of view without becoming disrespectful to one another.

Thank you @viedemode and @141 for your contributions in this vein :hugs:

yes that’s a good idea, a minimum purchase per order, that would also relieve the pickup points that are overwhelmed in big cities! and otherwise have you already had the notification “You have no notifications at the moment”? it’s a bug, isn’t it?

Well spotted regarding the drop-off points. And this would probably also indirectly allow the Secours Populaire, Catholic charities, and Red Cross to be in the €1/2 sector and locally, as they have always done.

That happens when your account is reset more or less, after a restriction for example, or a warning.
You no longer have the notification history
